They are very similar, but not the same. The iPhone firmware contains software to work with the phone, which is missing in the iPod touch firmware.
And YES, this is only for the IPOD TOUCH.

This is indeed built 5A347.
There is a link to download this directly from apple free... I'm not sure how people managed to get it...but it worked. That is where I downloaded this from..the download speed following the link it kinda slow...that why I uploaded it here for faster downloading. If you want to try out the link, it is here...
