as well as their original manuals and cover art. It has also been upgraded to be both portable and thinner, while utilizing less active memory. Several scripts have additionally been added to prevent crashes related to Vista incompatibility. It is also noteworthy that all E.A. and Westwood video logos have also been removed (with the exception of Yuri's Revenge for technical reasons
described bellow) out of respect for the former Westwood employees whose past efforts should be recognized, not exploited and rebranded.

This release, like all steam cracks, only allows the user to play on cracked servers (Note: Any server hosted with this release will be automatically cracked). The purpose of this release is to resolve the AI, Node Graph, Elevator, and Sleeper errors present within previous releases.

in the rar file, there is a file at this location that is reported by Nod-32 (3986) as a virus.

it isn't critical to game play, but it is labeled for use in multiplayer.
the game is playable and doesn't seem to have any problems, but i find it odd that there's an oddly named executable tucked away in the archive that shows up as a virus to Nod-32, which isn't known to have lots of false positives.

Hey All,
For those of you curious about CWND, it is a command-line program whose sole purpose is to hide batch windows so that if you choose to run the game from the source (feel free to edit it - that's why it is included in the Archaic Base directory) you aren't presented with an unaesthetic black window. As stated in the NFO CWND alters no system files or accesses the internet. Moreover no FEDERATiON release has ever contained a virus which is why the purple skull beside my name remains. However, if you are still concerned (Read: Paranoid) I recommend deleting the CWND executable and running it from the "CIVILIZATION II" executable. Gameplay will be unaffected.
I hope this information helps you guys.

Thanks for making this available. A couple of problems, however. First, it only runs directly upon extraction from the winRAR Miro folder and crashes once in the extracted folder. Second, it is now quarantined: "Risks in compressed file "civilization ii - multiplayer gold edition.rar" detected by Virus scanner." Could you just please explain again why there is no virus, and recommend any fixes. Thanks.
