Are u really that stupid, Once the install asks for the disk to be inserted you must copy and paste the bioshock folder somewhere else .. rename it bioshock2 or similar, then click ok and it will delete the original bioshock folder, then insert the crack into ur copied folder and play. fuckin retard

For those of you still having trouble with the installation, here's the solution:
Everything's already installed when it asks you for the game disc (or the non-backup disc, for those of you using a virtual drive). So your punishment for not turning up a game disc is the deletion of all it installed. This can be avoided by changing the name of your brand new Bioshock directory to something other than Bioshock (Bioshoc, or Bioshock1 for example). Then, when you click cancel, it removes nothing because no Bioshock directory exists on your computer anymore. Copy the shit in your crack directory to Bioshock/Builds/Release, run the registry entries, and thus you will have a PERFECT running copy of Bioshock!

This DEFFINATELY installs SecuROM on your computer. DO NOT INSTALL if you play cracked games that requires a cracked CD to play, or any other cracked software that requires a cracked CD to play.

When trying to start a game that that is not a genuine retail copy when you have SecuROM installed on your computer you will be prompted with an error message like this:

The image above is from the SecuROM uninstaller Utility you can download from the actual SecuROM Site:
The problem with using that utility is that it does not remove ALL of the files that has been initially installed and is set essentially to a 'hibernated' state, due to re-install the main SecuROM components on you trying to play or use any form of software SecuROM is programed to review, basically anything us pirates have interest in.
To remove SecuROM Completely you must:
After running the SecuROM uninstaller utility and restarting your computer, edit your registry accordingly:
hold the window button and hit 'R' to open the Run command box, type in 'regedit' without the speachmarks.
Once in the registry editor, go to: KEY_CURRENT_USER > Software
And look to see if you have a 'SecuROM' archive, it should look like this:

If the Securom Unistaller Utility did it's Job correctly you SHOULD NOT SEE the securom Archive folder shown in the image above, it should instead look something like this:

note that the SecuROM archive is no longer there.
Next, by using the Search function (hit CTRL+F) search your entire registry by clicking 'computer' at the very top of the list and search for this list of entries, one at a time, deleting any it finds when/if applicable:

If you don't get any results from some or any of the file searches, please don't panic...that just means you have been successful in removing the SecuROM files from your registry properly.
Not all of these files will show up in a search, it just depends on what version of SecuROM was in your PC.
You can now restart your PC and do the Registry search again to make sure you didn?t miss anything the first time, and if nothing shows up in the repeated search, then you?re now SecuROM FREE.
DO NOT TRY TO PLAY BIOSHOCK NOW!!! or ever, atall, if you have not removed BIOSHOCK previously to doing any of this make sure you absolutely do that right now and whatever you do DO NOT try to re-install it again or you will get SecuROM back.
Uploaders need to realize the serious issue uploading pirated games that SecuROM has not been removed from can cause for 'casual' computer users. Many of which will not know what SecuROM is or how to 'successfully' remove it from their OS.
Do your self a favour and save yourself a massive mess a round and do not download this copy of BIOSHOCK.

when the installation itz dont you get the error like... "you're using a backup CD. Please insert the original CD."
(or something like that)
follow the steps:
1.do not close the installation! and dont close the error! the game will be deleted
2.copy the installed directory somewhere alse (renamed... bioshock1 - for example)
after you copied the files you can close the installation
3.download the 1.1 patch here:
4.after you downloaded the patch installed in your new bioshock directory
5.copy the crack in ...\BIOSHOCK\Builds\Release
6.play
IF THE PATCH IS LOOKING FOR THE BIOSHOCK.EXE FILE COPY THE CRACK IN THE BIOSHOCK DIRECTORY FIRST (...\BIOSHOCK ) -> install the patch and copy the crack (again) in ...\BIOSHOCK\Builds\Release

sound problems for windows 7 users who have the realtek hd sound card ..

Step-by-Step Solution:
1. Access your system Sound Recording Settings
In your status bar, right-click on the sound/speaker and select "Recording devices".
OR
(Alternatively, access the setting by click on Windows "Start Menu" > "Control Panel" > "Hardware and Sound" > click on link "Manage audio devices" under section "Sound" > click on the tab named "Recording" )

2. Enable Stereo Mix (see screenshot)
Right click in the list of "recording device" where you should see "Microphone", "Line in", maybe "CD Audio".
In the context menu, Tick the line called "Show Disabled Devices".
Now you should seed "Stereo Mix" as a new Device.
Right click on Stereo Mix and click on the first option of the context menu "Enable".
3. Disable Microphone, LineIn, CD*Audio
There was an echo / reverb effect going on in the game which wasn't related to the in-game Reverb setting (OFF). I think the windows recording settings created a feedback loop, so I disabled Microphone, LineIn and CD Audio and voilà! Problem was gone.
This is it, Bioshock should work.
You can also take the time to review the options in "Stereo Mix Properties", for example I set Default Format to
2 channel, 16bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality) in the advanced tab, just enforce quality.
Description of the Problem:
•Once a game is loaded, there is no sound at all in Bioshock 1.
•When I start Bioshock 1 under Windows 7, I can ear the background music in the main game menu, but there's no "on click" sound effect when clicking on the menu entries. That's a sign that the sound will not work after loading a game, not point wasting further time.
Summary of things that didn't work for me:
•Using compatibility mode ( 2000, XP SP2 or SP3) does not work ( game freezes at menu)
•Installing Rapture3D drivers doesn't change anything
•Reinstalling latest sound drivers or using Win7 native drivers is not necessary
•Pluging-in earphones or microphone into the linein/mike inputs didn't work for me
Hope this post will save you time to enjoy the game.
also since u cant complete the installation .. the game will not put a bioshock.EXE file in the installation folder the u renamed ... see MOSU's post above ....
wen applying the update the package will look for a bioshock.exe to locate ur installation folder.. whats so cool is that all u have to do is move the new cracked bioshock.EXE file ( ) from the crack folder to ur installation folder ... so when the patch is applied it just skips over the cracked file so when the update is done ur can just launch the game :)
