the noise is in the source material, too. the encoding is so GOOD that it preserves the noise of the original film. it's called film grain for chemical film, and image noise for digital video. in case of Heros it's either of those, depends on whether it is filmed in HD or on film.
use a denoise filter if it bothers you. "ffdshow tryouts" has some denoisers.
