says file has built in subtitles, but I cant get them to appear. I use GOM Player. Should I use a different player?

youcan use vlc player, because it's a heavy player and use his own codecs you will not need to donwload any other codecs after that

or you can use k-lite mega codecs pack because for H.264 file and HD conetent it uses a DXVA filter what make the player use GPU acceleration instead of using the CPU that will help play H.264 HD Media File smoothly
