I must modify my comment: Ambience is stereo, dialogue has noise. Still excellent for a first watch.
Do they really make special versions for Russia, or is the plot supposed to take place there? Although sound is English, the initial printed message and some of the end credits are in Russian. In the beginning of the film, public signs and even ATM machines are in Russian. Could someone please explain this?

this is a film directed by arussian, the same one who made nightwatch. this version is the russian release. all writibg that is important to plot has been translatted into russian, but the dialog is in english. i guess they would have russian subtitles over there. it actually takes place in chicago. i have seen a cinematic release in the uk and everything is in english. best off waiting for a proper us/uk release dvdrip.

This is an R5 rip, but more specifically it's from Russia, the mother country of the movie's director Timur Bekmambetov. For those asking, the film is not set in Russia, it's set in Chicago. The text and other visible signs (such as the shop signs in critical close ups and the ATM etc) are in Russian because Timur made a version to be seen in Russia. BTW, the keyboard keys spelled out "FUCK YOU", and I can't tell you the rest because I'm not sure the exact content, plus it'll be a spoiler.
