i got a problem...when i enter the combination in order to unlock the door, the kid runs away,and the game freezes...wtf is that? i updated graphic drivers,but that does nothing.

Alright guys, I went through hell to make this work.
I will share what ended up working for me so you don't have to go through the same BS:
UPGRADE OR REINSTALL YOUR DIRECTX.
If you get this error:
ABORTING build [FINAL] v6.34 Changelist: #663064 Silent Hill: Failed to create pixel shader because we ran out of video memory. Try decreasing the quality settings. [no game crash info]
Your video card is not good enough to play the game. There is no way around this. You either have to buy a new video card, or if you are on a laptop then you have to buy a new laptop.
