SimAnt is a 1991 life simulation computer game by Maxis focusing on ants. It was designed by Will Wright, maker of other 'Sim' games such as SimCity and The Sims. In 1992, it was named "Best Simulation Program" at the Software Publisher Association's CODiE Awards. to run: unpack, and run with dosbox or other dos emulator.

Running 'INSTALL.EXE' through Wine 1.1.2 says:
"Looking for A:DISKDAT
Please insert the SimAnt Install Disk in drive A and press ENTER"
Running 'INSTALL.EXE' through DOSBox.72-1.1build1 in Ubuntu gives the same result.
Any suggestions?

i'm currently downloading this copy of simant but i've used downloaded simant copies before... if this one is like others its already an installed copy of simant. install.exe needs to be present for the game to operate but should not be run, can screw up the existing installation. unrar/unzip the copy and manually edit simant.cfg something ike..
DisplayMode=V (vga graphics, best option)
SoundMode=6 (soundblaster, 0-5 are the other sound card drivers but seem to lag or not load on most copies)
Then set dosbox to emulate soundblaster/pro/16 and run simant.exe
i've downloaded most copies of simant and they are either for windows and not dosbox/linux friendly or are already installed for dos... havent seen the disks/dos installer anywhere on the net in years and my floppy disks were destroyed years ago. same problem with simcity classic and dosbox/linux... the SUPERIOR dos versions of games are slippin away..

-any file, regardless of size, needs to be seeded. 0 seeds on a 1kb file is as bad as on a 1gb file. you are not the poster of this torrent so your not in a position to say "don't seed cause its small"
-simant was released on (2) 3.5'' floppy disks and would not ask you for a cd
