In The Woods… was an avant-garde/progressive metal band from Kristiansand, Norway. They started out as a death metal band called Green Carnation, but with the departure of main composer/guitarist Tchort to the band Emperor, they started the project called In the Woods… releasing a demo in 1993, “The Isle of Men”, and a full-length album, “Heart of the Ages”, in 1995. This album was unique to the time since the band expanded the limits of their black metal style into the soothing of keyboards and female vocals, combined with eerie distorted vocals and clean singing as well. The following, “Omnio”, is often regarded as their best album, featuring even more experimental music, 11 minute songs with more female vocals and reflective lyrics, together with magical instrumental overtures. The third album “Strange in Stereo” brought an enigmatic change in style, since music got far more depressive and changing. By the year 1999, Tchort returned to Green Carnation, so In the Woods… released their last album “Three Times Seven on a Pilgrimage”, a compilation of three of their previous 7” featuring covers from Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane and King Crimson, together with some newly released and rebuilt songs (like the new version of Child of Universal tongue). Since the beginning their lineup went through many changes, regularly consisting of X. Botteri, Jan Transit, C:M. Botteri and A. Kobro. After releasing Three Times Seven on a Pilgrimage, they held a farewell performance in their home town of Kristiansand which featured all musicians including the former members. The performance was recorded and released as “Live at the Caledonien Hall” in 2003. It was confirmed that this was the band’s last official release. Some of the members went on to play in the similarly-styled band Green Carnation, others took up personal projects and founded the independent label Karmakosmetix Records, created to support new experimental bands such as In the Woods… was in its time. whoever uploaded this torrent don´t know shit about in the woods or green carnation. greeen carnation was a shity demo band from kristiansand from whitch TCHORT was kicked out from for beeing a total asshole, then they changed their name to astaroth, which was only a rehearsal band with the members kobro, and the botteri twins. then they joined forces with transit and oddvar a:m from a cover band called in the woods... that had played a couple of gigs under that name, doing danzig covers. then the real magic started to happen. the five of them decided to keep the name in the woods... and went on to record the isle of men demo tape which was pushed like hell by snail mail, and was picked up by misanthropy records and the HEart of the ages cd was recorded. wanting to expand musicaly miss soprana diana and mr berserk joined and omnio was recorded, now with male/female vocals and the innovative idea of having three guitarists and no screaming blackmetal shit. in the woods at its best. due to some vocalist primadonna/psycopathic behavior the two brilliant guitarists oddvar a:m and mr. berserk quit the band and the magic was lost, so in the woods went on to record strange in stereo with a lesser lineup. due to some more stupid behavior from transit, the botteri twins decides to end it all with a bang and the gig live at the caledonian hall was recorded and realeased as a double live album with all the former members and even an additional bassist "stoned"... climaxing on the last track with four guitarists two bass players male/female vocals, and the pounding wood worker kobro on drums. with in the woods... having split up tchort sees his chance to make some money off his old pals the botteri twins and the in the woods.. name and tricks them into making the first green carnation album for him and even without the original lineup(and they hate his guts now)and so he continues with his copycat moneymaking scheme claiming to be the composer of the music even(god how they hate his guts when he calls them asking if they can make some more music for him).....

the cd version of the isle of men demo was only ment to be 1000 copies released on some obscure greek label. then hammerheart records from the netherlands pirated it into 10 000 copies, and were gonna send a bussload to kick his ass
