le610n Open the iso with winrar (right-click > Open) should give you a list of whats on the cd, find the folder named "Crack" highlight and tell it to extract. Both the patch and crack are there.

i found all the cracks and all but when i try to launch the game there pops up a window like dos where it says all kinds of commands like loading engine and all...so how can i get rid of it?!?!?!? please? thanks allready hopes up...

For those who are newbies with this game.
1.Download and install the game once you extract it with winrar
2. Patch from the Nukrew folder
3. Copy the XDA.exe crack from the Nukrew folder and copy it at C:\Program Files\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl\bin and overwrite
4. Mount image on Daemon Tools and start it up

IGLOOMAN the game runs PERFECTLY on vista if you download the fix from microsoft which will automatically be prompted after the first crash. Same with witcher and other new games that had problems, vista is fine if you know how to use it.

This is what you do:
STALKER needs huge amount of memory to cache resources.
Right click on "My computer" choose "Properties", then choose tab "Advanced" and click "Settings" in "Performance" section, in newly opened window choose tab "Advanced", there will be "Virtual memory" section with information about your current swap file size and button "Change".
Click and increase swap size to at least 2Gb. Little advice - do not make it selfgrowing 2-4Gb, but set it static min size = max size. In this case Windows will not fragment it, and performance will be slightly better.

I got stuck because i installed it perfectly and when i tried to boot up it said "Wrong CD inserted" so i tried mounting the setup 1a, 1b, and 1c files, but it still kept coming up with the same messages!!! i looked through the comments and fond likejanf260's comment and it helped me a hell of a lot! thanks likejanf260!
