it looks like they're all rar files so I guess have winrar ready, also be careful who you download from, thanks to some asshole I can't play portal for a while, he messed with the games default settings and now it's set to crash every time the first portal opens, I even bought the game and it still didn't work!

Alright, so I've done what the read me said and created the shortcut and all that jazz, but it still isn't working.
the error message is: "MountAppFilesystem() failed:"
Any idea how to fix it?

I don't know for sure about this download, but timm174 has uploaded a torrent which is ONLY SPAM!! All Files are only nil:s. My guess is that he is a filthy spammer.
