MoggyM (2008-11-30)

This seems stupid? 60Gb for three movies?
I have these in Xvid, around 4 Gb for all three.
This 1080p makes no visible difference, just waste of space.
Esir seems to be a crappy group who cannot compress a movie to reasonable sizes, therefor they are not accepted in the scene.

 [D] (2008-12-01)

ESiR = best and oldest HD group.
Thanks, always apreciated.

fizzlyzd (2008-12-02)

@MoggyM
Might be time to upgrade your 640x350 EGA monitor.

khurmbox (2008-12-04)

No doubt...if you have an HD set over 32", XViD look like somebody puke on the screen. 1080p is all I'll settle for with my set. Plus these movies deserve full hd rips. thanks.

bitNINj4 (2008-12-10)

MoggyM is a moron!

real_lowfire (2008-12-21)

MoggyM:
If you can't see the difference between a 700kbps or 7mbps movie, then you need glasses.

atava (2008-12-26)

need H.264 for this torrents. m2ts or ts , no mkv

riddleren (2008-12-28)

MoggyM cant tell the diffrence between a xvid and a 20 bigabyte full 1080p HD.. sad... must be watching a 14inch monitor.
Thanks for this great upload !!

riddleren (2009-01-01)

Awsome release.. Im loving it.. Just watched the first movie and only thing i did not like about this rip, is that there is no subs on the "non english" part of the movie. Was there no sobs on that part of the blue ray or was they just not ripped?
And do anyone know of a good place to get subs for all 3 films? All of all 3 films... Im after english subs ofc..

cool_recep (2009-02-13)

@MoggyM
Not only you have no idea about the scene and the ESiR but also you are so blind that you can not see the difference between SD and FullHD.
Don't like it? Then don't download it.

Naroush (2009-02-18)

moggy=retard.
comparing 1080p hd rips to divx.
thanks guy.
it might take a few weeks tho :(

sflemming (2009-02-27)

@ fizzlyzd, bitNINj4, real_lowfire, riddleren, cool_recep, Naroush ...
MoggyM just expressed his opinion. Stop offending him only because he realized that movie made more than 30 years ago can not in any case be upconverted to HD quality. It cannot even get to DVD quality. It's not him who is stupid because you are not able to understand.
Anyhow cgaurav007 thanks for your effort.

mecca30uk (2009-03-10)

^^^^^^ you fucking dumb bastard.
Think about what you have written.
Why would they put out a film on blu ray, if it was only in standard definition, or worse as you claim.
All films are in HD when they are filmed, Even really old films.
Until now it wasnt worth converting them to HD, but now they can they do.
Go away and learn some shit before opening yourmouth and talking rubbish

eligit (2009-03-11)

sorry for the noob question but will these files play on VLC on a Mac Pro? i have no problem with HD mkv files but not sure about this one.
thanks for any info.

LionsShare (2009-04-01)

The samples look great! Have these files been compressed or encoded, or are they raw bluray files? A lot of m2ts streams are around the 20 gig mark. Thanks

foldoy (2009-04-13)

pleas seed:)
my current speed is 2-3kb/s.. (2years and 34 weeks to download) =/

puchika (2010-01-07)

How do I view the subtitles just for the parts in Italian? Do I need the .srt for that or the embedded subs? TIA

bluesguyjon (2010-03-26)

Am I the only one to be disappointed by the picture quality? Some screens from Part II since it's the one I watched first:

Noise and lack of sharpness are pretty severe, in my opinion. Just an old film?

Maharaja-Krishna (2010-06-29)

LOL... At least by reading the comments above I had a great deal of fun!! :))
Everything of what has been stated is partly true, whatever the angle of view.
For my part I'd say that to download a good 720p is certainly better than a bad (upsampled) 1080p or at worst it would be more or less equal in terms of viewing quality.
And yes this film is pretty old so I don't think that in 1972 they really could film in HD (even 720p) so even a double density bluray will not improve the quality beyond a certain degree.
There are a couple of 720p torrents around and I'd choose one of these even for viewing upscaled in 1080p. These one seem to be a judicious choice: http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/5424683/ or http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/4468721
Of course this is just my personal point of view... ;)

stupid comment, in 1972 they could film in more than 720p or 1080p HD.
Do you realy think that films are made by "(HD) Camcorders/video-camera's"?????
Nahh.
They are made by professional (analog) FILM (35mm or 16mm) camera's.
Well some movies nowadays are shot with videocamera's, but The godfather and other old/newer movies are shot with Film-camera's(35mm or 16mm), which are better than 720p or 1080p HD.

sylar951 (2011-02-26)

I am sorry, but 60 gb is too much... maybe a couple of years later when blu-ray devices become more popular here...

zilko (2011-06-04)

Thanks dude, 1080p and dts big salute to you !

ArturDB (2011-07-15)

please, SEED! I've donwloaded films with 1Mb/s, this one is being 50Kb/s!!

ArturDB (2011-07-19)

Guys, I am seeding for 120 Kb/s, and downloading for less than 50 Kb/s .... please, it's not only about getting, it's about giving too!!

 wushdishmeen (2011-07-26)

So many dopes commenting on this.
When a movie is filmed it is filmed with a certain millimeter camera with resolutions that surpassed what DVDs were able to hold due to size limitations. At that time they 4.7GB was the most they could fit on a disc and so they had to compress the movie tremendously.
Also since widescreen TVs didn't exist at the time you would see "This film has been formatted to fit your screen".
With BluRay you can now see the movie in it's full glory totally uncompressed at the high definition bitrate they filme with 30 years ago.
BLURAY is worth it... the people complaining I guarantee are people who are too broke to make the transition to HDTV so they make excuses and say it's "pointless" to make themselves feel better.

dualaudionly (2011-09-02)

This file has to much size and not more seeds.

(use vlc for dual audio, go to AUDIO then go to AUDIO TRACK and then CHANGE THE TRACK>)
These files have small size and more seeds.

akiross (2011-09-10)

Seriously? 20Gigs per movie? that's like the size of the disc itself (25GB).. The average size for a x264 1080p movie is 10GB.. What a wast of space and bandwidth..

Vicar in a Tutu (2011-09-18)

The runtime is about twice the length of an average film though.

CodeX96 (2012-03-15)

Okay folks lets break it down, this is a great uplaod because it has no problems except one! which is...i cant get the sicilian subtitles to show throughout the robert de niro/vito corleone back in the day scenes...these files got loads of different subtitles in different languages and one of the texts are subtitles for the non spoken english scenes in all of these 3 films it shows it like that in mkvtoolnix...and when u remove all of them except that 1 it simply doesnt show those subtitles the way it is supposed to..it only works when u keep that 1 and also the regular standard ENGLISH subtitles which would be shown throughout the entire films which is annoying...i dont even want to bother watching the godfather II without the vito corleone subtitles in those scenes, it ruins the whole movie! i rememeber some xvid encoded versions of the godfather II had the subtitles without any .srt file...what seems to be the problem here EDIR haha:P

CodeX96 (2012-03-15)

i found this in a forum...To hardcode the sub, use AVIsynth with the following script...
DirectShowSource("D:Video.mkv",23.976)
loadplugin("D:VSFilter.dll")
TextSub("D:Subtitle.srt")

Zapfinger (2012-06-16)

wow 60gb? thats 20gb per movie.. i downloaded 2001 - a space odyssey yesterday and its as long as the first godfather.. it has 8,5 gb after recoding it for the xbox 360 and the quality is top notch. so i hope this one here has perfect quality because its 20gb for each movie then. >.< so i hope i am not wasting hdd space for nothing :P

Zapfinger (2012-06-16)

oh yeah and moggym is a noob.. first of all, xvid sucks and i only use it to burn older movies with bad quality onto dvds for my family and friends who do not own hdtvs. but i have a quite big panasonic viera here which i use to enjoy good movies in full hd and i use my laptop to check out the quality before i recode the movies to mp4 aac 2 channel for the xbox. and it happens a lot that, because my laptop screen is really small, the quality looks like crap on the tv and i have to recode a few times using different settings which sometimes doesn't do anything because the original file had bad quality that looked good on the laptop. :P

Zapfinger (2012-06-17)

only getting 1-10 kb/s here since 2 hours..

taquelim (2012-11-08)

What kind of shitty seed is this? Come on people! This is a great, great upload! Thank you, cgaurav007.
