Steve Gibson Wrote spinRite as a bootable program in Assembly for the x86 Architechture. it will not boot on a mac. This is probably a virus or trojan attempt.timmyvv (2013-06-24)
neosoft326 may very well be right about the virus/trojan attempt, but for the record, Steve is currently allowing testing of a Mac-compatible version.The x86 processor architecture isn't a problem (Intel Macs have used the same processors for years now). He explained that it's a combination of BIOS and Apple's use of certain USB features from its UEFI.
