I guess I got a little over zealous with my previous comment. Perhaps next time I will wait until the download is finished before commenting. Turns out that the songs are all variable bit rate, some as low as 80kbps! The stuff provided on Pretty lights website is all 320k.

That's why is called VARIABLE bitrate...and FYI the highest bitrate at which you can hear a difference is 256k so 320k is overkill. Comparison done between mp3 bitrates, if you want quality flac all the way.

It depends on your equipment. I use studio monitors, and I can tell the difference between 320 and lossless. It's comparable to the difference between a JPEG at 100% quality and a PNG: the color red is still blurry in the JPEG; certain high frequencies are still muddy in the MP3.
