I got an invalid checksum error while dmg was verifying for its integrity, so looks like a corrupt upload or something.

I went on installing it anyway after invalid checksum, but it gave me an Installation failure in the middle of installation progress.

Have just downloaded today in a vmware Lion and install Xcode successfully. Previously i downloaded a 4.3 GB torrent and was unable to install. This is clean and nice. Have not encountered any checksum problem as well.

Guys this link solved my problem, for me it was certificate release data problem. As the uploader uploaded in 2011 the certificate expired in 2012, you need to set your date to 1 Aug 2011 and try to install again, hope it works.
