Will you be uploading the No Doubt concerts too, Goose???mothergoose56 (2009-03-10)
ummm No, i Doubt it?canksta (2009-03-10)
Thanks again goosey! I hope the boys stay on CBS FM. Looks kinda bleak, but then again so is ERock's chances of mating....booclauge (2009-03-10)
thanks, goosey!jonnychadootz (2009-03-10)
Thanks MG, quick up today :) Very good sirHope the boys r still on cbs, don't really know wtf the execs r thinking...Been said already but do they really think replacing O&A with music that people already have on their ipod's and can listen to whenever they want to is going to help? Instead of giving people new u give them what they have already? I don't get it. Kinda common sense to me.

Thanks Goose. Is an all XM show really that bad of a thing? I'm not too worried about tomorrow.
mothergoose56 (2009-03-10)
> Is an all XM show really that bad of a thing? In some ways no - but it's less exposure overall than before for the show. And they definitely won't get certain higher-profile guests now without the safety net of FM. Some Panicky Pete agents don't like the atmosphere of satellite radio and won't take the risk.
Also, for some FM O&A was "work-safe" - but not anymore. Either way, strap in it's going to be an interesting ride....
mothergoose56 (2009-03-10)
....and I agree the 20 minute segments when they first went back to FM (and the best-of replays in between) sucked and changed the flow of the show. I won't miss the constant breaks, that's for sure.charliedawg (2009-03-10)
I'll take whatever fresh OnA I can get. I remember all-too-well those lean years.at least I have nice cf freshies from the goose.
thanks again

Opie via Twitter: "It's official KROCK has just informed us that our services are no longer needed."mothergoose56 (2009-03-10)
Stuntbrain's contribution to the show will certainly be missed. I guess the question is how many of the show staff actually worked for CBS radio and how many are technically SiriusXM employee's?mothergoose56 (2009-03-10)
...and I'd assume the lone VA (non-CBS) affiliate that was tape delaying the show is gone too? There's no way they'd edit the XM show (especially the references to satellite) for one affiliate? Anything's possible.SpecialED3 (2009-03-10)
thanks goose!and thank you comeflywithus, i still couldnt figure out that joke and need it spelled out for me. haha
this sucks about them being taken off FM. i actually like both shows equally for their own reasons, its going to be weird having an XM only show. i think ill miss stunty the most though he was a great addition to the show. i guess sometime the cookie crumbles that way. i think with the changes going on and the changes going to happen (such as the move to the new studio) they show is going to be verrrry different. let just hope its for the better
Thomas100273 (2009-03-10)
You know, XM dumped out of Jon Valby's song about Obama when he said "The White House smells of fried chicken and watermelon" on Friday. They are panickey Pete's on that side, too. Uncensored radio is a bit misleading and one slip up still means instant firing. No more homeless in the studio!!!ghoull (2009-03-10)
Surprised they lasted this long with the horrible ratings they had. So much for taking over Howard Sterns stations hahahaha. Soon they'll be podcast exclusive like carolla when sirius fires you next. 0.0mrbucket75 (2009-03-10)
Ghoul: Your kidding right? Do a little research.mothergoose56 (2009-03-10)
Howard couldn't take back his stations anymore, FM is a completely different environment than it was before. And Corolla has like hundreds of thousands of people downloading his show and he's still booking decent guests. And please, by all means - get rid of the only thing worth listening to on satellite so I can get XM out of my life for good.mothergoose56 (2009-03-10)
> You know, XM dumped out of Jon Valby's song about ObamaThat's Anthony's dump button. The show dumps to cover their asses with SiriusXM, unfortunately. They used it today when talking to Bob Eatman and he said "he heard Wednesday" (re: the format change) Anthony said "I dumped it". Then Opie repeated it right after saying something to the effect that "it was dumped but you said Wednesday."
bloodyjimbonney (2009-03-10)
the Red Alert is flashing, but the missiles are already in the airThomas100273 (2009-03-10)
Even if Anthony dumped it the point is that they are still censored, they just can use saucy language. But thanks, Goosie, for putting me where I am, which is in my place...:)
anonymiss (2009-03-10)
ghoull goes by what Howard tells him like a little sheep. Baa!O+A are number one..or WERE..in NYC. Its the format flip and not the ratings that got them off FM.
I am glad I graduated college now so I can get the show through goose. If I was still listening only on FM I would be so upset! When Freefm went to shit I was sad, and this would make me sadder. No good talk radio anymore on FM. They actually had john and jeff on before Freefm died! EW
As long as they're still on somewhere, then I am happy. I hust hope the boys are happy, too.
mothergoose56 (2009-03-10)
The only way they'll ever be 100% uncensored is if they distribute the show themselves without mega-corp pussy lawyers holding them back. I.E. a live stream and/or downloadable content - but even that needs "sponsorship" ultimately to cover bandwidth so that could be a problem. I'm not saying I want that to happen just that no one on satellite is truely "uncensored". Bubba sucks but even he has been fighting censorship with Sirius from day one - there's always going to be the corporate dump button.fuct2000 (2009-03-10)

My two cents? this torrent is going to get much, much more active, 250seeds right now. i think thats the most i've seen. It used to be like ~100, then moved up to ~150... after boston left.anonymiss (2009-03-10)
People know of the goose's skillz. You know these torrents are usually on the top of the list on mninva, rite?
Also I think they could do podcastan if they really had to, esp with their popularity. Someone on WB was saying how another radio person did it and he *did* get sponsors for his show and all that. Everything is internets now. News is dead, comics is dead, radio is dead. Its not so much of an amazing thing anymore to have a radio show online exclusively. '3'
Still, lets not jump to that just yet. They are still on the air afterall.
mothergoose56 (2009-03-10)
What's reported tracker-wise on tpb and mn does not include all traffic (I think DHT might be left out). You can generally add about 100 seeds to the number shown. (I.E. what your torrent client is reporting vs the numbers listed here). This torrent had the most traffic of any I've posted - it peaked at 360 seeds last night. The most I'd seen previous was 310.tobreakcustom (2009-03-10)
It's official. Gone from CBS.Did they/are they doing an all XM show today? Or was today the last official day on CBS?
mothergoose56 (2009-03-10)
Opie at 6am this morning; "Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck - there, are you happy?"Their NY ratings came out yesterday and they went from a 3.9 to a 5.4 share, including the 9am hour they weren't on that dragged them down a bit. Considering K-Rock as a whole was tanking, those numbers are very good - which makes it all the more frustrating.
They should have stuck with the FreeFM talk format, and left the music to phones and mp3 players. For instance, there is no radio station on the planet that can compete music-wise with services like Slacker Radio, EXCEPT by offering unique talk content. "Hits" radio will likely boost 92.3FM ratings for a bit, but it's ultimately an old, dying format when compared to what's available to more and more listeners.
Terrestrial is dead. The problem is, satellite radio isn't too far behind it either - thanks to the same management-type issues that burden terrestrial. Oh well, at least the show is still on.....
tobreakcustom (2009-03-10)
So was it an all XM show today? What time did they go till? And does the format flip mess up the torrent source or anything, goose?mothergoose56 (2009-03-11)
Not exactly sure when they signed off but they were on a 6am and still talking to Steven Adler at 10:15 or so. The complete CF mp3 is about 30 minutes longer than usual, they prob signed off at 11 or a little before and still get in more time because of fewer and shorter breaks.mothergoose56 (2009-03-11)
I have todays show now but it's a stereo 64k file. I'm doing my normal recode from a HQ source to mono 64k (sounds much better for voice) which delays the up unfortunately but I'm attempting to be consistent. Realistically it may be up 1:30 EST or later. I'm working on a (private) live stream as well which I'd love to go public with but with me upping these everyday it's not the smartest thing to be putting illegal streams up with my home ip address freely available. As long as they are on the air I want to up them but I can't really do that if I'm being threatened legally.....mothergoose56 (2009-03-11)
...or if you guys prefer quicker over waiting an extra hour+ I'll just up the stereo encodes from now on. It's actually much easier for me to do but the mono makes a difference imo. The bumper music sounds much better stereo but the talk (the bulk of the show) is noticeably more "warbly" sounding. It's your call.mancation (2009-03-11)
i like the mono. it does sound better. or is it just what we are used to?? whatever goodness you have, will work....oapartyrock6 (2009-03-11)
Hmm you guys think if Opie had left his mouth shut yesterday(glad he didn't) their last day would've been today? As for the quality it's your call Goose.charliedawg (2009-03-11)
I'll take whatever you got mother.Although the boys were not happy today, you could tell they enjoyed not censoring their speech.
mothergoose56 (2009-03-11)
> you could tell they enjoyed not censoring their speech. You could hear Ant during his latest cop story this morning initially softening his language and holding back as a force of habit. And Jimmy with his CHR acronym was a change of pace at 6:10 am....
tobreakcustom (2009-03-11)
I don't mind mono or stereo. Whatever's easier for you, Goose.mothergoose56 (2009-03-11)
Sorry folks, another 15 min on 03-10-09. I know everyone's waiting patiently for their XM-only O&A - it's coming.....mrbucket75 (2009-03-11)
Thanks goose. You are the bestest. I know i havent been vocal lately, but know I appreciate it tremendously.charliedawg (2009-03-11)
"Maybe they should be the first to successfully do the internet thing. They'll figure something out."Anthony is building a studio in his castle.
Thomas100273 (2009-03-11)
However you manage and whenever you manage the up is fine with me, Goose. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and you get all the credit in the world.mothergoose56 (2009-03-11)
Jesus, after all that painful waiting I f'ed up and upped the wrong file to my remote box. Moron. Stereo it is, I'm doing a RS link for the mono file.moustraw (2009-03-18)
What's wrong with the stereo files? HQ Source? I'd love to know about it!Credit your files.
