There is a possibility that you never copied the whole authentication code properly, you will need to highlight the whole thing from left to right cuz some of it is not shown.

THIS WORKED PERFECTLY!! even for version 8.0b. I downloaded the free trial version from Sony website and then just used the key gen, perfect. THANKS HEAPS 2richdeens, you rock!

ehm, is this a Trial? Cuz when i install it and going to start it says "Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 Trial" And under that it says "Expires in 30 days" Also, when i am starting Vegas and it's "Initilazing UI..." it stops at the half :/

I can't get a proper authorization code, What could I be doing wrong? I am copy and pasting the full thing, left to right and still nothing. Do I have to match up serial numbers or anything like that?

yes you have to match serial number with authorisation code.
sony media manager should install while your installing sony vegas. try reinstalling. =]

Okay To Get This Working For Everyone.
1. Run The Setup And Install Sony Vegas. (If You're Vista, Right Click- Run As Administrator)
2 After The Installation It Will Ask For A Serial. Close Sony Vegas And Open Up The Keygen. (Again If You're Vista, Right Click Run As Administrator)
3. In The Keygen Choose, Sony Vegas 8.0a (Build 179) [I think its this one lol] and then Click PATCH. It Will Ask Where To Place The Patch.
You Browse To;
My Computer - (C: Drive) - Program Files - Sony - Vegas Pro 8.0.
----Now Apply The Patch.
4. Generate A Serial. Open Up Vegas Pro. Choose Register From Another Computer. The Rest Should Be Easy.

I never got the choice "Register From Another Computer". It went straight to the serial input.

I tried patching it how instructed, but it got the error message.
serial worked, authentication code didn't... most likely because of the patch.
Any solutions?
