The Reason the Download is so slow is beacause only 681 people are seeding it and 3463 people are sownloading. So many people are downloadig that it causes slow speeds because they need to share the files between 3463 people.

Will Wright's Spore was released today and the reviews on Amazon are abysmal. When I checked, over 100 reviews gave it one lonely star. I'm not particularly interested in games, but what's fascinating here is that the dominant reason for the low reviews appears to be that folks are really ticked off by EA's use of DRM.

This is a lot faster than the loder one...Put it up, went to sleep and it was done when I woke up.
Since it's an ISO it's a lot easier to setup, I personally have Power ISO and it was done in a few minutes.
If you have PowerISO:
1. Open up the folder and right click the ISO and mount it.
2. Go to My Computer and run the drive
3. Install
4. When it asks if you want to install the download manager, click NO! Also, don't register the game with an EA account, and don't go online. Remember that you have to buy the actual game and in order to have online game play.
5. Finish install and DONT play it yet.
6. Install crack.. I personally installed mine here
7. Open crack folder and extract it.
8. You should now see "SporeApp", right click and copy it.
9. Now go to Program Files. Electronic Arts. SPORE. SporeBin.
10. Right click and paste (If it asks if you want to overwrite it, click Yes)
11. Play the game and ENJOY :]
Please remember to SEED for awhile after you are done.

Download went pretty fast (8Hours), but now i have a problem.
when i try to install the game, Deamon tools somehow unmounts the iso after a while, causing Spore installer to say it's mising a file.
when i go back to deamon tools and mount again, spore isntaller starts from scratch and stops at the exact same place again.
the missing file is: 20050880

I get an error when I run this. -COULDNOT CREATE THE GRAPHICS DEVICE. DIRECT X IS NOT AVAILABLE. I did install directx 9 redistributable from the torrent before installing the game. Any ideas? How can I get pas this error? I've been through hell trying to get this to run - I had to upgrade from Win2k to XP, then I had to replace one of my video cards. You need to install the crack before you run the game and it won't ask for the code to be re-entered. To install the crack, copy the stuff from the crack directory in the .iso to the installation directory of spore's "bin" folder. if the directory was C:/Program Files/Spore, it needs to go in C:/Program Files/Spore/Bin, you will probably have to overwrite something

This has certainly been a long time coming, but my efforts in trying to work the Creepy & Cute pack has refocused me into sharing this to the world.
This is for Installing Spore on Tiger Macs, INTEL only! Sorry, but I think intels are the only computers this method will work on.
You'll Need:
*Spore Install Disc (could be downloaded offline too)
*Copy of the Creature Creator Installer (trial or full version, both will do I think).
*Intel Mac with OS 10.4 (little redundant now) with a property list editor (should be built in, but can be installed off of OS install discs or apple.com).
Procedure:
1. Right/ctrl click on your creature creator installer, and select 'Open Package Contents' from the drop-down menu. Navigate to Contents>MacOS. You should find 3 files: tgInstall and two file dispatcher files. Make a copy of them, or drag them to the desktop.
2. Make a copy of the Spore installer by dragging it to the desktop. Right/ctrl click and select 'Get Info' from the drop-down. Select 'read and write' from the ownership and permissions section.
3. Take the three files from the creature creator installer and use them to replace their counterparts in the Spore installer (right click, open package contents, Contents>MacOS).
4. Navigate to Contents>Resources and open the tgInstall.plist file. Open up the root menu, go down to Minimum System OS, and change the value from 10.5.3 to 10.4.11 (or whatever system you have).
You should now be able to operate the Spore Installer and install Spore to wherever you want.
5. Now fire up your Spore application. Now it will ask you for your license code. Enter it. Now it will ask you to install all three patches. Do so now. It will take a while, but wait it out.
Now Spore will bark at you for no having Leopard. No worry. Now is when we dissect the Spore application.
6. Right click the Spore application, and select Open Package Contents again. Navigate to the contents folder. You should see an info.plist file. STOP!!! DO NOT EDIT THE INFO.PLIST FILE!!!!!! Drag the info.plist file out of the contents folder, keep it safe in your Spore folder, and make a copy of it. Place the copy into where the original belonged. Open it up, open up the root tab, go down to Minimum System OS, and change the value to 10.4.11. Now you can play Spore!
Now whenever a new patch comes out. Delete the info.plist copy, replace it with the original, unaltered version. Install the patch, and repeat step 6. Why do we do this? Because if the iPatch updater detects any altered file of ANY kind, it WILL pull the plug on the patching process and bark at you to reinstall. As long as you keep the original info.plist unaltered and only for patching, things should work out fine.
This is as far as I could achieve. I have not yet discovered a method to install the C&C pack. This will require a hacker more brilliant that I.

But do note, Spore is buggy! BUGGY! So keep a piece of tape to mark where the save and quit buttons are. I'll let you find out why for yourself.

for jaketheeesnake question, this is how you mount on DAEMON TOOLS(NOT ALCHOAL 120).
1. download and install daemon tools. i like it better since its simpler
2. now you should see a lighting icon in a ball on the right corner of the task bar.
3. left click on it and select the mount option. it should have a number one in front of it.
4. in the menu that pops up, browse to the where you downloaded the torrent( if vista, the orginal place should be user>downloads) and double click on the iso file.
5. then you should see a menu pop up and click the setup or autorun option.
6. form there you should follow the installion prompts.

So, iv sucessfully downloaded and installed, however now having problems getting the game started. when i go to move the 'Sporeapp' from crack folder into bin, it tells me that i do not have enough space, and when i attempt to open up the sporeapp which is already in the bin, it asks for registration code, and when i enter the code generated by the crack, it tells me it is not valid, what am i doing wrong!

I can't fucking get this to work with ANY TORRENT. PLEASE HELP. GOD.
I've installed this game previously from TPB, and it worked fucking perfectly. I do everything correctly. Install the game from the mounted ISO, copy the crack from the ISO into the Program Files/Electronic Arts/Spore/Data/SporeBin, replace it, then run the game. But every fucking time I run it, it just goes to 640x480 or something and just loads for about 5-10 seconds before the message "Spore has stopped working. Trying to find a solution..." comes up and it just closes.

I tried to install "Spore Galaxy Adventure" expension, but... It crashes again at THE SAME PLACE! D: (Loading after Creature Creation and before the Creature Mode).

Game runs fine. Downloaded, extracted, installed, played fine. My computer is complete overkill for this game as it is a pretty old game.
Stop blaming the torrent/game for you having issues. This game runs perfect. I am willing to bet it is ur lack of understanding in dealing with Torrent files and general computer use on this matter.
Go buy a decent computer and get rid of that Walmart welfare shit you currently own and you just might notice a difference.

I was able to download fine, copied Crack files over, and did NOT download the download manager. When I start the game it asks me to put the key back in. I'll put the same one in from the generator, but the screen keeps popping up to re-enter the key. Any ideas?

EVERYBODY!
If you don't know, there IS a crack in this file. Right click on the ISO file and choose "Open with..." and click on WinRAR. Inside it, there should be a folder called "Crack". After you finish installing, copy what's inside into the Spore folder. It should work then.
P.S. If you need a Key code, go the website in the torrent description.

EA has shut down their Spore servers, so no legal online.

I can't get it to work. Can't find a code that works. Closest I got was when it seemed to start and then said "Game cannot start, missing ______" ... something 526 or some kind of letter + number combination. It wouldn't accept anymore codes so I had to uninstall and reinstall. Still doesn't work with any code even the somewhat recent one given here. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do.

I'm finding my problems when I'm in space. I crash about 33% of the time when I leave a planet or enter one. I crashed about 11 times within a 5 hour period. I lost all my data and had to go back to Tribal. Then I learned my lesson and started saving more often. Good thing too cause it keeps crashing. Is it just me?
I had only one other bug, where in tribal stage my chieftain wouldn't move but float in midair. But that could just be the game bugs. This only happened on one character.
