The movie had everything to it's disposal to make it into a great flick, but to me it doesn't seem to find it's drive. Will Smith is quite OK, but never shines like he has done so many times in even worse movies. The scenery is actually quite nice, although to be honest, I know nothing of the city it plays in. CG tends to be too visible a few times.. But is not disturbing.
For the story itself, I am not so forgiving. There is really nothing about this movie that has not been done before. All aspects have already and are still being done in film, comics, books, comic-books, theater, etc. And thats of course never a problem if done nice, renewing, entertaining, with a great plot, etc, so I of course expected this renewal of old stuff to top them all!!! Sad to say it definitely didn't do so for me..
The few exciting moments are shot down because of continuity errors, or by creating false moments of suspense by letting the characters just do really stupid things. The last reason for me is an instant failure with these big budgets and stars because it is just way too easy. There is no elaborate clue to a plot. They just mess up, wait too long, walk too far, go to deep, etc.. And surprise, surprise, You got yourself an action scene.. Even if I really liked the movie, if I were honest I, (we), could simply name 1-3 things (and probably name the same) which just didn't have to happen and destroyed the film.
Will Smith mentioned a lot of times in shown interviews that the people of the shown city gave him and the crew a lot of the finger every time they saw them. This because of all the closed down streets while filming. I hope they won't do worse after seeing the poor result.

if you are useing VLC ( which i highly recommend);

To Jroenn you have to be open minded when watching a movie like this of course he has to go to far to find action there is no one left in the city, Will Smith is a great actor and done a great job playing a guy going crazy in a vacant city. For ne one that likes a good sci-fi movie this one is great one.

Hmmm..just read a post on here of how to easily get this movie over to a dvd that you can play on your home dvdplayer.. Sure sounds NOT so easy to me... Personally, you can do a search on here under the widows applications, for a download of the VSO ConvertXto DVD v 299.18.970 version Had alittle trouble getting it installed at first...but then I remembered reading somewhere, that your "Firewall" will interfer with some programs working and etc. properly... So after unplugging my internet line from the wall..and cleaning my machine and scanning the downloaded torrent... I simply installed the .exe file [but did Not open up the program to explore it until I had followed the instructions... then clicked the "Register" button after putting in the password key that comes with the download...then done a reboot to get the program set as a perminate installation... Once rebooted...the program works far better than any of the others that I've used in the past... It takes an AVI movie of about 700MB and converts it in about 35 min. and with it's built in burner, it then burns the DVD in about another 23 min.... Of course I always clean and reinstall the firewall and computer before hooking my line back into the wall.... But for those that are using the ole' Dvd2dvd process...and spending up to 3 or 4 hours on that route...you'll simply fall in love with the speed and custom designing that you can do with the ConvertX method... it also works great on auto fixing those vid/audio sink problems too.. I don't know wtf people are talking about. The movie quality and audio was good.
I didn't like how the movie ended, but talking it over with my buddies at work, i learned that it's not the same as the book's ending, which is much much better and actually makes sense.
It was cool until the end! Get the dvd with the alternate ending or look on you tube :P
