The keygen is sibreg. It opens in terminal.app
The update is necessary if you're running leopard and wish to save any of your work.
I only used the update and the 'Sibreg' keygen from this torrent, but everything is working perfectly for me.

The keygen works properly, you only have to do this:
1 - Open the Terminal
2 - Get into the directory where is the keygen
3 - Type: chmod +x Sibreg
4 - Type: ./Sibreg
5 - Follow the instructions :)

I press enter; it says there is no such file or directory.
i continue and write ./Sibreg; same message again.

Key Gen Instructions-
Make sure you're in an administrators account to register
Move the Sibreg file to the desktop and load up the terminal application.
Type the following:
cd desktop
chmod +x Sibreg
./sibreg
That should load up the Key Gen, then follow the instructions.

Do you know why people don't seed and if they do, they make their torrent client allow only 1kb/s is because in Canada, thanks to Rogers, there's a download cap of 95gigs and if we go over that, we have to PAY $$$$ and let me tell you! It's not cheap! It's bad enough we download torrent files for ourselves but to share this precious bandwidth with the rest of the population and I have to pay for the extra, forget that! Not sure of other countries around the world but in Canada, there are limits and I am not prepared to shell out an extra $25-$150 per month so seed. I know what you're thinking, which came first, chicken or the egg but I believe this is the main reason why people don't seed! Guess it's different in USA or other countries other than Canada.

No, we have no such limits here in the USA. Actually just found about this issue from an Aussie friend. Bummer! Hope you can overturn that legislation; we seem to do fine without it.

GREAT JOB!!!
Took a little work because I never used a "mac" keygen before; always used virtual pc.
Follow all the tips in this thread & you'll achieve success in installing.
When I bought Sibelius 2 a few years ago I had all kinds of problems e.g. moving the app or files, so watch out. They'll make you re-register if you even breathe on the program.

the Sibreg file should open with Terminal on OSX Leopard (that's what I'm running), and then come up with a prompt looking like this:

+ Welcome to Weasel's Sibelius registrator +

Enter:
E to generate an English serial
G to generate a German serial
S to enter your own serial
C to enter computer number
? to display this
CTRL-C to exit
I typed E, got the serial, entered it, and it works!

When I try to open it it doesn't do anything.

I did everything, but at the end, it won't open. It goes through the sequence and then say "The application Sibelius 5 quit unexpectedly".

I found this worked for me
1. Use Roxio Toast for the .nrg file and follow the instructions to install (maybe turn your internet off to be sure)
2. Put the sibreg file on your desktop (i couldnt find it in terminal otherwise)
3. Type in on Terminal Desktop/Sibreg

So i get a key from the key generator and put it in and it says "this serial number appears to be corrupt, please get technical help." and then sibelius closes. I've tried the german and english key. Does anybody know what to do?

opening it in textedit leaves it as code, and it wont open in terminal

7) Click accept.
8) Go to "Register by fax, etc."

10) Type C into Terminal and enter computer number (which is given to you by Sibelius).
11) Get registration number and copy it into Sibelius.
12) Write music.
