Also new to this. Used Ulead to make dvd and would not read in player. Program "converted" file to fit on disc. What am I missing?

After a little more research I found that using Total Video Converter worked much easier to make a working DVD from an AVI format file.

ok, for all of you newbies, this is what i do to watch on pc or convert it to dvd.
For the PC, it sounds like you may not have a codec, look for "K-light codec", it is free and easy to install.
For DVDs I use "convertXtoDvD" to me it is a great program, it takes around 2 hours to put it on a disc.
You might be able to find them on here under Applications. This is what I use if anyone knows of a better DvD converter/burner please tell.

u know, the torrents with more seeders doznt meen that u download the files faster coz i am downloading another 1 of this movie with more seeders but it is way slower.

If you can't play file then download the k-lite codec pack along with media player classic. This will solve your problems.

To those who got the problem with no picture, only sound: Download VLC media player. i used Windows media player before, and i got the same problem, but with VLC there's no problems at all!
