Another hard-to-find rarity for collectors of celebrity nudity. You wont find it at Netflix, or Blockbuster Video, or your local mom and pop video store. Amazon has some used VHS copies available - but I don't believe this puppy was ever released on DVD. So - this is my rip from a VHS tape and the quality is not that great - maybe 7.5 or 8.0 out of 10 - viewable but not pristine. Starring Oliver Reed and Amanda Donohoe it is a so-so artsy-fartsy tale of a young couple who spend a year on a deserted island. Based on a true story. If it wasn't for the fact that Amanda Donohoe spends half the movie bare naked I wouldn't bother with it. And by naked, I mean not just topless, but butt-nekkid. In case the name Amanda Donohoe seems vaguely familiar, Americans might recall her as a lesbian lawyer from the 1990s TV series L.A. Law. British TV viewers will know her from her continuing role on the Brit series Bad Girls. And most recently she was in the movie Starship Troopers III. If anyone has better quality tape (or DVD) of this classic, please upload it. Enjoy.

Sorry msjoedin - but your link is to the 2000 flick also named Castaway starring Tom Hanks. That may be why this 1986 flick is so rare. Do a name search alone and all you get is Tom Hanks, Tom Hanks, Tom Hanks, etc.
You have to look for the 1986 Castaway.

This is based on a true story told in a book "Castaway." In the book are photos of the real man and English girl, and Roeg amazingly recreates everything just as pictured there. She does admit begrudgingly that she slept with the man, who she abhorred generally. Eventually, she left him to his booze and inventions.
