During the interview with Diane Farsetta, they mentioned "propaganda placement" in films and how the military is intimately involved in the making of certain films.
A great a example that i use when explaining this to folks is the recent film Transformers. In one of the extras of the film, a "making of" segment, the director Michael Bay openly admits to inserting positive military themes in his film to help with recruitment. In exchange, the military, would let him use the latest and greatest military gadgetry.
