The images that appear when they walk onto the Icarus are of the original crew members. A similar picture of the Icarus II crew members can be seen with them wearing santa hats.
Basically, it's part of the movie.

This is a really good movie. I rented this when it came out because I saw it had the same director as 28 days later. I knew then that this director was heading places. He is of course the same director of Slumdog Millionaire.
There was also some great acting talents in this flick. Thanks for sharing it!!

a higher audio bitrate should have been used. in this case i would have preferred if the video was compromised more instead.

This really is one of my favorite movies. When it came out I missed the chance to catch a screener in my city. For years I have felt that I missed out on seeing this on a big screen. This is one movie worth renting on netflix or buying, also check out the soundtrack to it - its a really amazing original score.

@je2854 youre a dumbass, thats the crew of the original ship that was sent to the sun. it showed their picture, along with the picture of the crew of Icarus 2 in the movie. they were in the same pose and everything, huddled together looking up at the camera. no one is interrupting your movie but you. i guess everyone has to find something to complain about.

At 49:21 (as timed by VLC media player) a face appears in this movie on a couple of frames quickly fading in and out when at the moment a flashlight is shined towards the camera, where it does not belong, as if its been spliced in by accident or otherwise. You will see a flash of orange and this guys face smiling grinning at you filling the entire frame...

I'll never understand why people are quicker to swear that something is wrong with a film than they are to even consider the possibility of their own lack of understanding... or why they invariably try to convince others that their misunderstanding is the proper interpretation. Is that ignorance, or arrogance?
@je2854 and @choppergirl correctly identified a problem, but it wasn't with the small bits of film they mentioned... it was with the whole rest of the film, to which they didn't pay enough attention to establish a context for the bits that confused them.
There's a great opportunity to learn here, but those who need it most are the least likely to do so.
