Ok, this seems to be a fairly widespread issue, and I finally resolved it for myself, so I figured I'd create a torrent to help out others who are having the same problem. This file contains the dll files required to load iTunes in XP, and SHOULD fix the problem where iTunes refuses to run after a new install and instead just runs in the background without actually opening. All you have to do is extract the files, then copy the dlls found in this torrent into C:/WINDOWS/system32 and overwrite any conflicts, and then iTunes should open without any problems. Cheers.
