use imgburn and select the .dvd file. If you don't have a .dvd file, make one.
Open notepad and paste this in (without quotes)
"LayerBreak=1913760
101-gta4.iso"
now save the file as gta4.dvd (make sure "save file type as..." is on all files) Then put the .dvd file in the same location as the .iso of the game and select the .dvd file with imgburn.

from what i can tell it works from lots of ppl! Gou have to flash your 360 firmware somehow though with a coustom os.
Thats why I am trying to get an emulator for the pc, I cant stand to void the warrenty on the 360 i have here.Already returned it once for hardware faillure. Hopefully evo2k8 can help me out with prob.

To everyone wondering how to burn this: You should have two files, a .dvd and a .iso, with the .dvd being a small file (32 kb?).. Use Imgburn to burn the file! Just select one of the two and it'll pick the proper one. Then burn at 2x speed or 2.4x speed or something..
By the way. I seem to have extremely long loading times sometimes for burned games. If I burn at 2x instead of like, 2.4x or 3x, would it make the loading times normal?

Game works great, except for one thing. A good bit of the scenery and textures don't load in time with where I'm at in the game... even some smaller structures don't load quick enough. I'll be driving and slam into something i can't even see, then it loads a good 5-10 seconds later.
Is this due to the dvd rom on the 360 running at a lower speed? I vaguely remember the guy that modded my system saying that the drive will read at 8x now instead of the normal 12x

Anyone have slow load times and slow scenery changes should read this.
You should you use better media, burn slower, and/or have whoever flashed your system re-flash it with 12x firmware.
Anyone looking to emulate 360 games on a PC it is unlikely you will see that happen anytime soon. Even if the software was available(it's not) your PC couldn't handle it.

Anthony817 - The spec of a console are very specific and for a PC to emulate that it would take a PC with 3-10x the what the console had. It is very different to emulate hardware vs. software that runs natively on that hardware. I doubt many people's home computer are 3x better than the specs of the 360 and your system is definitely not.

got benq drive, burnt at 2.4x, on verbatim, drive read at 12x, game has slow graphics loading issue just like others have said. Grapics dissapear and reappear after a few seconds, I've failed many missions because of this. Now I will definitely have to buy the PS3 version, especially for free online play. I don't know if this graphics issue is because it's a demo or whatever, but if it's a retail one and the retail does the same, then the 360/Rockstar is gonna be in deep doo-doo.

I just played for about 2 hours mostly just driving around the city very fast with no errors. Works perfect. Anyone who is having problems it may be due to the media or the drive. I wouldn't expect to have any issues with a retail version.
I have had great luck with Office Depot DL media if anyone cares.

Ramacher - Did you take the the fans and put it on top of the CPU heatsink and than let it run for about 15 mins to overheat? Also be careful with the washers sometimes the hardware store washer vary in thickness. You might need to remove 1 layer of washers and overheat again. Has always worked for me but some times you may need to overheat twice

Actualy even if you had the best hardware out today you would have little to no chance to emulate a 360. Since despite the fact that your system out shines its components by far im sure. The 360s hardware is all dedicated to certain preordained processes and applications and doesn't need the higher performance hardware that needs to be able to do a broader range of applications like the hardware of your computer. :D

@^ open your phone in the game (up button) and hit multiplayer....yet I dont suggest till the release date otherwise rock* might knock on your door and smash you.
I can confirm this works 100% had a few glitches in the graphics, but havent seen em lately. The game rocks, i suggest buying it if you havent preordered already. The only problem i have is that it reads as unplayable disc once or twice before i can get it to read, but that may be my own burning media and what not....who knows...thanks for seeding i will continue for a while

I do realise that the PC is more robust than a 360 doesnt have to run all the prosesses that a PC does, and that fact alone makes it doubtfull that any modern pc could do the same, let alone with it running vista and a DX10.1 ATI 3870 X2 card.
Lets just see what Herr, evo2K8 has in mind. Mabey it was "lost in translation" what he was trying to convey? I think it sounded to me that he meant to pair up a 360 with a pc to allow it to be ran on my pc?
In that case, it is possible becuase I know people have acheaved this with a xbox1 and a pc.

HOWEVER, I tend to not listen to people, and I've been using Fujifilm 2.4X DL's.. and busing Xbox Backup Creator at MAX speed, and it works...? That 3Gb of ram is the least of your concern(i mean you need it but the cpu and the gpu are the most important if u wanna emulate a console game)1st of all xbox360 has a risc(google-it not much room here to explain) processor (3 core if im correct) while your pc has a cisc(google-it) cpu(2-3-4 core tops).

360 emulation isnt happening because even if you wanted to emulated a PS2 on the newest todays PC you wouldnt suceed. For PS2 emulation you would need a cpu about 9Ghz strong...

@alfred921, What the fuck you talking bout man? Have you lived under a rock orr what? The pc version isnt even done yet and its unlikely that we will even see it out this year at all! If you go by the history of gta games on the pc, then it goes without saying that the pc version will be out exsactly 1 year after the consoles.
Although, I have heard rumors that as early as november of this year we may have it, so I can only hope for that.
If you have read the post you will learn that I am hopefull to test out a real 360 emulator on the pc! Hope my friend evo2k8 is telling the truth! Sounds inpressive on his part.
Time will tell though, and I surely will reporte here if it works like a charm.XD

you know if you dont have a modded xbox360 you can burn a special very hard to get hold of disc like i did and it hacks the firmware of the dvd-rom drive to read illegal games cool huh

My parents won't let me get a 360, they don't have the cash anyway, so i have to buy my own when I get my first job. (15yo) so I'm downloading it right now to see if it will work on pc, cause if it does that's really awesome. But when I get my job this summer as soon as I get 500 dollars I'm getting a 360 and this game.
