I didn't tested it but I found this stuff for crashing:
1.start the game
2.wait until you are in the main menu
3.Alt-Tab back to the desktop
4.open Task Manager
5.look for speed.exe, right click and choose Set Affinity...
disable all cores but one and click OK
go back into the game
I guess 99% people have multicore procesors
