I've never been able to get subtitles to work in .rar files.
I've tried every way I can think of to add them to the main group but it never works.
I usually just wind up deleting the movie and giving up.
Can anyone give a step-by-step instruction how this is done.

If you're too dumb to figure out subtitles, I doubt google can help you.
The only thing you need to get it to work is to unrar it and make sure the filenames on both files are EXACTLY the same

If you're using VLC 9.9 (though older version work nearly the same). Here's how to add subtitles. Start up vlc, click Media -> Advanced Open File. A new wind should appear. At the bottom left corner. There will be an option to add subtitles, click on that and browse for said subs. Pick large due to normal being rather small. If you need anymore help, remember to use google.
