As far as i can tell, it works, all the beta key does is allows you to download the game. but that's what PB is for right? ^^

Well, Im in the beta myself, and I can say that this is probably the real updater that will allow you to install the full game; however, it will do you no good without an active EA account with a beta key. Also, the servers are only active during specific times, during the weekend.
