Fear mongering? 24 is a TV show that isn't very realistic at all. Heck, Star Trek is more realistic. There are so many stupid unrealistic clichés in it the mind boggles.
Take torture. Anyone who thinks torture can give quick answers to complex questions is an idiot pure and simple. In the real world people torture other people for fun and terror, not for getting answers.
But it have been a little entertaining :)
