Mac OS 9.dmg

This torrent contains the Mac Os 9.2.2 System Folder and the Applications (Mac Os 9) folder from the original restore discs of an ibook G3 32MVRAM (late 2003). It contains a lot of default applications and utilities, such as a battery meter and an Airport monitor. These folders can be placed anywhere in your OS X root folder and used through Classic OR directly booted from. EDIT: I HAVE managed to get them boot from a standalone partition, created with Disk Utility after starting with OS X install DVD. After partition creation, just drop the two folders into it and proceed as in next paragraph. To boot from Mac OS 9, go to System Preferences -> Startup Disk and let it find your OS 9 folders (it'll do it!). Then select Restart. OS 9 has a similar Startup Disk in Control Panels to revert back to normal OS X startup, or you can boot with the Option key held on to choose where to boot from. This system has been tested and boots well in an ibook G3 32MVRAM 12"/14" and also in a Powerbook G4 Titanium DVI. It may also work on older machines. Newer ones do not support OS 9 standalone boot anymore. Remember that Classic is available up to Tiger (OS X 10.4). * PD: For PC users you may use the following tool to extract the DMG image for burning: http://hem.bredband.net/catacombae/dmgx.html Your burning soft will complain (I guess it's because it doesn't recognize HFS+ filesystem) but the burned disk will be OK. * PD2: This torrent DOES NOT contain a bootable disk.
