The truth is that Hitler saved us from Hitler by being so stupid that he attacked The Soviet Union (USSR) with an army that wasn't prepared for the ice cold russian winter. Many 100 000 of the German soldiers froze to death. With the help of USA the war ended much faster. But no country was more important than UK. But this is just my opinion and I come from one of the few European countrys that hasn't been in a war for more than 200 years. Guess what country that is...

Saving Europe was a team effort. If there wasn't any hate, then the American's wouldn't need to get involved, but it always seems that hate spreads on that side of the world (out of control), and bring it over to America, so then we have to get involved. You can take your hate for America and whatever else and shove wherever yo can imagine, or we'll shove it there for you!

This is far superior to the first US pilot. I'm glad they scrapped it. I'm in the US and I feel that so far, the UK version has a slight edge. I love Philip Glenister's Gene Hunt. Keitel is much better than the person who appeared in the original US pilot..but doesn't have Glenister's flare as of yet.
This also does capture NYC back in 1973. I remember it well!

thompscd2410: The British saved the world from the germans simply because they refused to give up. The odds were against them and they had numerous chances to surrender or make peace with hitler and they didn't. It was their bravery or stubbornness that allowed the war to continue long enough for the americans to enter the conflict.
They also helped the russians by giving them the intercepted transmissions that the germans were sending out. So the russians knew what the germans were going to do and the germans never realized that their enigma encryption system had been cracked by the british.
Americans have been taught to believe that they are good at war when they really aren't. What americans are good at is defense, not offense. Americans are good at building things, not destroying them and when it comes to invading countries and trying to occupy them they are absolutely useless.
In the end coolix is probably right in that his dick saved us from hitler. There's probably a documentary somewhere proving that.

thompscd2410: The Americans lost Vietnam and the Korean conflict isn't over yet. British planes were bombing German targets long before any American planes were.
Austria wasn't necessarily liberated since it's uncertain as to whether or not they wanted to join with Germany at the time.
If Germany had managed to invade and conquer England then they would have been the first country to successfully do so in 900 years.
Hitlers stupidity didn't have much to do with his failure in operation sealion since that operation really never went into effect. The luftwaffe got it's ass kicked so badly by the RAF that they couldn't go any further in the plan and canceled the invasion.
Hitlers stupidity cost him everything else though. If he hadn't invaded Russia when he did then maybe America would be speaking German now instead of Spanish.

As for this copy of Life on Mars: Quality is excellent and the show is a lot better than the pilot was. Not sure if I like them replacing Colm Meaney with that other guy but the show overall is less awful than the pilot.
I'm not sure if this show is going to last and I didn't enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed the BBC version but only you will know if you'll like this american version.

Thank You eztv. Whenever I miss a show and have to download it you seem to be the one who has the best version uploaded so thanks for that too. As far the WWII thing goes both of my grandfathers fought in the war. They were both Irish but one fought for the British and one fought for the Americans. They both lost friends and relatives in the war and to this day I consider them both heroes. Say what you want about who can claim the victory. The way I see it is the Allied Forces won the Axis Forces didn't. End of story.
Britain has good TV
U.S. has good TV
The U.S. remade The Office so thanks for that however the idea for American Idol also came from Britain and we all know we would be better off without that show.

First off I'm American. Hey notenough, please don't listen to thompscd2410, not all of us are ignorant right wing conservatives. For the record thompscd2410, we did loose Vietnam and if there are any unsung heroes in WW2, then maybe you should think about the fact that 9 out of 10 germans killed in action, died on the Russian front. Also the Brits fought in the south pacific and asia in WW2, educate yourself please.
Also we have lost and always will loose wars fought against ideas... i.e. Communism, Socialism, war on drugs and the war on terror. Can't use a gun to force an idea unless the people you are fighting want it, plain and simple.

just thought id way in on the whole ww2 thing. both britain and th us had aprox 500000 casualtys each where as the germans and rushians had 20mil casualtys each. i think is obvious who won the war ie. the russians. knowing the name of an operation doesent m,ake u a historical expert it just means u watch a lot of discovery. if it wernt for several factors including the stupidity of hitler the nazis would hav won. firstly duncirk, if we hadent rescued the british expeditionary force we wouldent hav been able to defend the empire, mainly our sources of oil. secondly if the luftwaffer had put all its resources into destroying the raf they probably would hav then invasion would hav followd(succesfully or not can never be known) how ever they decided to bomb london and other cities hitler thinking he could beat the british spirit into surrender(very nieve of him)
thirdly japan decided force america to enter the war prematurly (pearl harbour) if american politicians had had there way they would hav stayed out of the war until it was too late. pearl harbour is generaly considerd a disaster for america but if they had waited to long they would hav had no chance at defeating the entirity of europe,asia,africa and austilasia. finaly there was the attack on russia which hitler stupidly started if he had read his history books he would have learnt from naploion and fought the russians in winter. as to wether americ won the vietnam war they technicaly did as vietnam is a democratic (sort of) country as is south korea there objectives were met so they didnt need to continue to fight. lastly it seems pointles to fight amoungs our selvs to decide who gets the credit for the victory of ww2 as it was a combined effort from the allies including large amounts of canadian australian and indian soldiers. id also like to point out that during the time brity
ain was fighting the nazzis america was able to build up its military industry to maximum cappacity which was ulimatly the winer coz no tanks and plains then u gonna lose big style as hitler eventualy found out!!!

thompscd2410, trying to assert Americans over Europeans using WWII as an example is just as lame. No one here fought in that war and those debts are paid. Time to move forward into the 21st Century.
And yes, as a rule, American remakes of BBC shows suck. But you know what? Any remake of a good show is most likely going to suck. No one would complain if there was an American remake of Ashes to Ashes, because that show blew chunks.

I'd say it was just as good as the original, but no better. So if you're a fan of the original probably no need to start watching this one. That being said, the car chases will undoubtedly be better. It's hard to look like Starsky & Hutch when you're driving a Fortina and chasing a Prefect.

I like the stories of the war of 1812. The USA invades Canada, so Canadians go and burn the White House down. Hahahaha! What a way to win a war. There is two side to every coin, on one side I dislike America, I mean their government goes against it's own constitution to put people in Guantanamo Bay. But on the other I love them for some of the things they have done in the past, Sherman Tanks in WWII for example, one could be replaced in 36 hours, 6 for every German tank. Just good thing the Brits put good guns on them for the Yanks!

I think yopu refer to the Bank of England, which like the Federal Reserve and most global banking power is privately owned by international interests who have no nationalistic loyalties but global domination as their goal. It was these powers ( notenough and thompscd2410 ) who have conspired to back both sides in global conflicts for centuries. Nothong creates more debt than war. Nothing enslaves the human conscience or denies freedom more than war. As to the show - not as bad as it could have been I found it ok, quality as would expect from eztv - good - prefered uk version but I was in London in 1973 not NY. Thanks for theup ez great work!

blink...blink...wow. How the hell did we go from tv show to...well....This. Oh hell, why not. So, the English won the war. Ok. Americans aren't very good at offensive strategy. Ok. Wow. Hell, you're all right, american troops should just be pulled back and never sent out again in either direct or supportive engagements in the world theatre. I'm cool with that.
