Right click on RAL.EXE and go to compatibility tab and select the 1st (win95), 4th and 5th options as seen as:

I can't get it to work, since it gives me the error message that it can't find the IRC CD-ROM. I've changed the compatability settings as you showed, and put it in the C: drive.lexxusdrake (2011-05-13)
this does not work. i have been able to install it, but no further.i have downloaded this 12 times, no attempts have got it to work.
have tried fiddling about with settings, changing compatibility, etc. i am using xp, so am unsure what the problem is.
one thing i do know, every time i open the game, it says either: 'cannot find the CD ROM (even though i have mounted image file onto C:/ every time)' or 'Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close.' most of the time, both of these happen. what is the problem??
