OK after almost 2 hours I've got the game to start. The problems was that I didn't have the physx drivers installed (they should really add them to the DVD).
If you have this problem just install the latest physx drivers. If you get the missing nvcuda.dll error then you don't have the latest driver.

im an idiot...i forgot to copy and paste the crack...well, for all those out there who dont know what it means copying and pasting the crack: go to ur poweriso file, select open, go to the folder called "crack" go in, and COPY the crack. then go to program files, find the overlord file, then paste it. the game should work fine from now on. cheers ;)

Kallegurka123, you're supposed to "open" the CD and find the "crack" folder. There's an exe in there, you copy it out of there and put it in the game directory and play it then

If you get the FXName.cpp error, just download the latest version of PhysX from Nvidias website.
This will fix the error for ATI based cars aswell as Nvidia ones.

Confirming this game works on ATI-cards with PhysX_9.09.0428_SystemSoftware installed. You can DL it from nVidia.. Yeah, I know, I got a little allergic too, but it's the only way to get rid of the \FxSDK\Src\FxName.cpp error.

The game, AFAIK, requires PhysX (by NVIDIA). If you have an NVIDIA graphics card, just update your drivers and that should fix the problem.

I'm running Vista (32 bit) with a GeForce 9600 GSO and had the same error. I downloaded the driver update from NVIDIA's site and installed and that fixed the problem. Had to reboot once, but hey that's the price you pay. :P

A little in the game I started experiencing some sudden framerate drops for no apparent reason. It's getting somewhat annoying when the fps drops to about 5 every ten minutes or so.
