man. fuck trying to get this dos game working. just download the HI-RES version from http://hrp.duke4.net/
Before, I couldnt get the config for the life of me (tried all settings, downloaded DOS sound emulators, etc), but the hires version is already compatible with XP. All I had to do was download it, install, and play. YOU DO NEED THE DUKE3D.GPF (or whatever), so this torrent is still useful.

I did not find the duke3d.grp file anywhere in this directory by the way Try DOSBOX I use it on a 850MHZ and 256 MD Ram and it works with sound and all just set it up for for low res and low grapics and close any other crap your running make sure nothing is running in the back round like limewire, etc or it will probably freeze so bad you might crash

never mind I found it it was wirte protect by the way so if its not working for any one uncheck read only in properties and run setuo before you try to play it
