s963, sci fi movies are often horror movies as well, and vice versa - look at Alien, are you telling me that is 100% Sci Fi because it's in the future and about an alien, or that it is 100% horror because it's intention is to scare you?

and anyone who knows anything about either genre would know that Frankenstein is more of a science fiction than a horror
when it was made, it was never intended to scare anyone
if you actually WATCH the original Frankenstein, theres only actually 1 scene that is remotely "horror" at all, and in that scene the horror is happening TO the monster, not the other way around
anyone who calls themself a fan of Science Fiction would know this....

ok, i'm actually quite astounded at the level of, well, it sounds harsh to say but stupidity is the word, in this post.
the whole point of K-Pax is that you dont KNOW whether he really is an alien or a traumatized man, and you never find that out, the whole point of the movie is that sometimes knowing doesn't matter, you clearly missed this.
in the movie (and the book) there is overwhelming evidence EITHER WAY, each of which cannot exist with the other, but are equally infallible
yes, he looks exactly like a man who went through something horrific years earlier, his pencil is from that mans home town, he has flashbacks of his previous life - this alone would be pretty much proof that he was indeed a human, and his alien personality is just a fabrication
BUT
he can see ultraviolet light, and they proove in the movie that he can - this is impossible, human beings can't see ultraviolet light - he has knowledge of star systems that no human could possibly know OR figure out, it's not explored in the film that much but in the book he clearly has some sort of ability to communicate with animals, this alone would be taken as PROOF that he is, indeed, an alien
but the two outcomes can't exist together
the point of the ending was that neither outcome is validated, in a sense you are left to decide yourself, but when they made this movie they planned on making all 3 books, and in the second and third books it continues these arguments
in the second book for instance, he performs "Light Travel" in front of hundreds of people, and it is proven conclusively that he can indeed travel "through" light - are you telling me that this is something a traumatized texan can perform with relative ease?
the ending of the 3rd book finally gives some sort of answer but it's neither of what you think it will be. it reveals he's not actually an alien per'se, but definitely "not of this world"
so your original post is pretty, well, stupid. K-Pax is indeed a Sci Fi even if you discount the books sequels that they never made into movies, the point is that he could be either, neither, or both
from reading your post it's clear that this film's whole premise was completely lost on you, and as such, it's pretty dumb of you to post messages about it on the internet, because in the end you just make yourelf look a fool
