Or as they say (dy/dx)= -yx (plus finesse the exponent). Thanks for the upload :-)This 845 page tome is essentially an attempt to use statistical theory as THE rubric for the study of the uneven distribution of human behavioural characteristics. [EG, if you could quantify 'goodness' you might expect a probability gradient along which some were compulsively 'good' (Sr. Theresa types), some compulsively 'evil' (historically, take your pick) with the majority falling somewhere in between] But critics complained that the book's conclusions obviate self-improvement and may be used to justify a militant exclusionary elitism. BTW, used (VG) PB versions of this work can easily be obtained for < 2 euro v. < 2.50US, if you happen to want further detail.Autarchus (2012-01-05)
One of the best books ever written, but too often unfairly maligned. I was in the computer lab during college next to a girl doing a book report on why the Bell Curve was racist. I asked her if she had actually read it, and she said No.g-factor (2013-03-01)
I wholeheartedly agree with the above comment; this book has been more unjustly maligned and misrepresented than any other book I'm aware of.Very few people who criticize the book have actually read it, and those who think they can without doing so tend to be sociology majors ;-)
No other book comes close to covering as much information about the role intelligence plays in society than this one - period.
