therealwillie - It is in the registry so you need to run Regedit ! go to HKey_Local_machine - Software - Electronic Arts - EA Core - Installed Games - sims3_dd (then right click on lang - select modify and change the Valus Data to en_US and hit OK - then close regedit and it should be changed !!

For those who always complain about seeding: seeds are usually not the problem, it's your torrent client's settings. I downloaded this when there was 2 seeds and it still finished in 12 hours.
I have a question about gameplay if anyone knows: How do you move your sim to a new house after already owning one? I see window with a move button in the lessons but i can't figure out how to access it.

thanks shroo, i'm dumb lol. 4thelove of pcs, you need to set up port forwarding and make sure that everything is as unlimited as possible without crashing your router. I'm sorry that i can't be more specific but i would need to walk you through a long process. Look up port forwarding though, that will be a good start.

I've ran the TPTB application and pressed Esc. when prompted but nothing happens? It just closes while not extracting and not making setup.bat available?
I've even tried running setup.bat through the command prompt and it runs until it reaches tptb.exe and then fails to extract anything?

Never mind that last comment, I figured it out I had to set setup.bat to run with itself, which I shouldn't have had to because it should have worked like the directions said.

This is my first time using torrents and installing this way, I've downloaded the file and extracted it however running the 'setup' batch file only opens the window that tells you to press esc and then stops at 1%.

Works Great!
At first I had the same issue as most other people with the "game did not install completely, try again later...". All I did was right click on the reg file and select run as administrator. Nothing happend, black cmd screen popped up for a sec and dissapeared. I thought it didn't work, but afterwards I tried running the game and it worked.
The reg file is in the main sims3 folder where you extrectated the zip. It's a 28kb application file.
bis21131, I got the same message also, "windows is searching for TS3.exe.exe, Browse". Cancel that box. The desktop shortcut didn't work for me either.
Go to the sims3 folder where you extracted the zip, then go to the "Game" folder --> Bin Folder ---> Scroll down and you'll see TS3, click that and game should start. It's a 29MB .exe file.

The reg file I cant even open because its a .dll file.

You have to open the reg file with notepad and change the extension to *.reg---Then double click it to add the registry entries. You also have to create your own shortcut to TS3.exe as the desktop icon that is created has the incorrect path. Other than these minor idiot-proof actions, the game works great! Thanks TPTB. Please, if you enjoy the game, buy it. The online benefits are awesome for those who legally own the game.

Okay I have the TS3 icon on my desktop and everything (it doesn't work), but where do I find the Game>Bin>TS3 file? It's definitely not in my The Sims 3 extracted folder. There is a file named "bin" but it's a DLL file.

If you can't find the reg file, try clicking on "start" in bottom left and in search box type in "reg.exe", it should come up as a 28kb file if you have. Run it from there.

This torrent works great. Had no problems with it except one. When saving, its like flipping a coin. Either it saves, or the save crashes in 3 ways:
1. The save screen freezes, and data until last save is gone.
2. The game crashes and the save is now wiped or the data until the last save is lost.
3. And finally my favorite, after starting up the game, your save is there, but empty, and everything is gone, but your character is in the character inventory like he'd never been played before.
Anyone else having this problem?

It is something you are going to need to know if you install or modify programs. The only reason i am not telling you is so that you find out properly and dont get the wrong idea.

Ok, don't download this one! The game plays fine but then if you want to add any additional content (like the popular "The Sims 3 Store - June 2nd, 2009" torrent with all the EA addons) it will fail and say "critical system error".
So if you just want the base game, that's fine, but if you want to be able to add additional (necessary in my opinion) content and packages look elsewhere.

Excellent torrent, installed & played fine on Vista following instructions posted. No crashes after a couple hours of playing, & no problems saving. I save every 30 mins or so.

The problem is that the computer keeps crashing while I'm playing and it's cooling system became a lot louder. The computer is brand new and labeled as a powerful gaming comp, so I don't think that's supposed to happen.

Hello guys, got some problem with it. I installed it on my vista computer, worked but too slow. So did the same on my XP comp, but can't work. I launch the icon on my desktop "The sims 3 by TPTB" but then a black screen appears and then I'm back on my desktop. the desktop shortcut didn't work for me either. it works if you go to the sims 3 / Game / Bin
in the Bin folder there's a TS3.exe file...click that and it should work.
the sims 3 launcher doesnt work here. if you're planning on installing the package files for extra items and so on... it wont work here.
other than that this works great if you're cool with never updating with new items.

Hi, I have a terrible problem. The game boots fine, but after loading I get "installation verification failure" and when I click OK it just quits the game. Now, I am not really a noob, I've searched for half of a day before posting. I've tried every single crack, even downloaded the Razor patch (780mb or something). I've tried clearing registry and adding Sims to registry via reg.exe, via regsetup.txt (renamed it to regsetup.reg) and I've even tried putting dis in registry manually. I have had this for a bit, had to reformat and went to re-install game but for some reason in the game -> bin, the sims 3 launcher and .exe and I'm not sure, but they may be others aren't getting installed.
I've tried several times and even search for the .exe but that didn't work either... sigh

Everything installed fine as long as i start the app from ts3.exe instead of the desktop launcher. However, about a half hour into playing, my entire system shuts down. Ran another virus scan from norton and got nothing. I did notice the cooling system seemed to be working a lot harder than normal but i can't really say for sure.

How to make this work on Mac!
1. Extract and run Setup.bat on a Windows PC.
2. Transfer final "The Sims 3" folder to your Mac (network works fine)
3. On Mac, download m3g4uPl04d.c0m/?d=ECDMO1PF
4. Extract The Sims 3.app, copy to Applications directory.
5. Option-Click, Show Package Contents
6. Navigate to Files
7. Make a new folder "Electronic Arts"
8. Drop your 'The Sims 3' folder in here.

Im a bit of a noob but help would be greatly appreciated. I've downloaded the .rar file and extracted it, I then ran the setup.bat file located in the extraction's directory but when I do this the command prompt comes up (as it should) but then my computer simply shuts down. I trust that this isn't a virus because of the comments posted here, but the question still remains... What am I doing wrong?

Game works Perfect guys! Here's what i did.
1. Download the game.
2. Unzip the file with 7Zip.
3. After unzipping, Double click the Setup.bat file
4. After the Game Finishes extracting Go to C:\The Sims 3\Game\Bin
5. Scroll down, You will see an Icon that has TS3 as it's name. Double Click it and there you go! Enjoy! :]

it completed with the dirextx installation box..

i have something more to add..1: half of the folders that are extracted , are empty..
2. the batch file extractor says it needs 5.5 gb hdd space, but after the extraction its only4.88 gb with 334 files and 90 folder, size on disk is about 5.2 gb..the shortcut on desktop and i myself couldn't find ts3 anywhere in my comp...so i tried to outrun my destiny and downloaded rzrs crack and tried to run the game..stupid of me..didnt work
3. in the #soft#..there should be the original exe and other original stuff, rippers give that as back up..(skull did that always) its not there...
there was once a problem with synergy's lotr conquest rip he misplaced the setup .bat file and gave a proper one on a different link..shroo, i have a feeling that you need to do that too

For all those who are having the Black screen or the blue screen of death.

it seems to me that the stupid tptb.exe file is causing all the problems. you just have to move that file not copy "cut" the file a new folder,just keep that file away from the setup.bat

For those who are having trouble on Win7:
Extract main folder once downloaded
Disable antivirus such as AdAware
Run "Setup.bat" and hit ESC when the TPTB screen is shown
Right click on the new desktop icon and go to "Properties"
Click on the "Shortcut" tab and change the last part of the "Target" from "TS3.exe.exe" to "TS3.exe"
Go back to the folder where "Setup.bat" is located and run "reg.exe" as administrator
Right click on the desktop icon and run as administrator to start the game

Hey, thanks. This worked perfectly, no issues with your instructions at all. The only thing I did differently was run setup.bat as administrator and NOT just double clicking it to run it... when I double-clicked it only the entire weird setup process didn't work. Everything there on out was perfect.
Not used to this format... I'm used to mounting 4 different images to install a sims game. If you follow the directions, this is not only quicker, but A LOT easier to install!!!!!

Make sure you disable your AV while installing The Sims! Some AVs flag the .exe as malware (it's not a malware).
Download fast within 44mins. . .!
Make sure your display and sound driver is up-to-date to prevent crashes.
