Hmmmm... Something seems wrong here. 1280x544 is 544 lines, which is nowhere near the 720 lines advertised by the "720p" label.
I hope I'm missing something....

1280x720 is the 16:9 anamorphic ratio, when you squeeze the anamorphic ratio to the intended 2.35:1 ratio you'll get 1280x544 (letterboxing removed). The resolution is correct.
