this torrent is a format that says can't be open...or it is corrupted...i have been getting a lot of files like that lately

this torrent was stuffed with Leo 10.5.5 and its integrated zip-compr. I've tested it to unpack in winxp, and it works on this OS even well as under Leo.
If you have any problems, use a torrent client to download files like that (aka Transmission, Azureus, µTorrent (only for win), and it will work.
otherwise share some files and in the future it will work for you also well as for me.
