I did install this and tried the XP SP2 compatibility mode but I cannot get the game to work.

Turn off your antivirus b4 extracting the crack as it will be disabled because yr antivirus is finding 2 exe files with the same name....this is called a false alarm

And when i'm patching for XP (1.05, not from this torrent) game requiers a disc (cause it changing NoCD .exe).
What may I do?

I took the patch from here

and it works!
Press red button СКАЧАТЬ, media get downloads its torrent-client on your comp with noCD-patch (~800 kb).
Then find where media get was placed on your comp and delete both folders. (Media Get not visible through Tweakers).
but finally It have worked with the patch for XP! And rus P loc (txt)

to all who are having the compatibility problem there is a work around in the downloaded folder look for a folder called disk1 blah blah blah click on it then click setup it will say you do not have enough memory.. just ignore it and click okay and go through installation as normal then copy over crack and boom you can play it .. oh one more thing If you chose 'create shortcut on desktop' during install, and you installed in the default location, the created shortcut will not work when clicked. This also applies to the shortcut in the startmenu. You receive an error; "Max Payne has stopped working" followed by an other error when closing the first one.
Solution: Use 'right click: run as admin' or you can also use 'right click/properties/compatibility/run this program as admin' to permanently change it and just click it next time.
Cause: UAC protected default directory, the setup could never have known about that at the time.

To run under Win 7 x64, make sure:
1) you don't have one of those nvidia drivers where support for older games is removed, some performance drivers are made that way... if you use ATI, never mind
2) make sure patch 1.05 is applied, exe should be version 1.0.4.0 but the other dll's are updated as well, that's what MaxPayneXPVista7.rar will add
3) there's a noCD from DEViANCE for 1.05 on gamecopyworld, I use that one and it works properly... the included crack exe might also work, or get them both for archiving, more options
4) Install.exe is 16-bit exe, it won't run under 64-bit OS's, just install it from Disk1setup.exe
5) this games needs compatibility, set MayPayne.exe compatibility to Win 98 and run as an administrator
6) get the sound patch 1.12 for Windows Vista / 7, without it sound and music won't work as it does in XP
