iLife '11 Full DMG

iLife '11 http://www.apple.com/ilife/ I ripped this (my own DVD) with disk utility, so it's safe, for those of you who might be concerned. Also it does not need a serial number. Apple doesn't require those for any of it's core products. They assume you'll buy them and they don't need to lock you down. ;-) But seriously though, if you like this you should consider buying it (not to get too preachy or anything). You do not need to burn the .dmg file in order to install. Only do that if you want to back it up or install on a computer other than the one on which you downloaded it.

Ok, nice if you could spell. Remember the old days, when you would just click to download a torrent and then go do something else for a day? It's freakin 2.91 GB and my upload speed is about 562 kB/s, which is pretty good for non fiber optic, which they don't have in my area. I am seeding. If the world revolved around you, which you apparently think it does, It would still take 1 hour 30 minutes 25 seconds to seed it to JUST YOU!

THE REASON WHY IT IS SO SLOW IS BECAUSE THERE IS A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF LEECHERS.

There are very many stories in the relevant Apple Discussions forum that point to widespread problems of a very serious kind, most of them having to do with the iLife '11 installation process and/or the Library update process that occurs when you first open your photo Library(ies) with the new version of iPhoto. There are numerous reports of people having lost large portions of their photo libraries, the photos then being recoverable only via hard-core utilities such as Data Rescue 3 (which of course does not recover any of your albums, ratings, titles, or the rest).

So with all these new features, why am I not jumping up and down with excitement? One big reason: iPhoto '11 is the buggiest piece of software Apple's delivered in my memory.
Apple's support boards are overflowing with unhappy upgraders. Many claim they have lost all of their photos, which could be true in some cases. It's also possible something went wrong with the library upgrade, and the photos are there but the database has become corrupted. Reportedly Apple is working on a fix, and if true, it needs to be a fast one. Make sure you have a good backup before you install.

installed this flawlessly.
Then i updated the software.
Then when i open iphoto it updates my photo library.
And It Looks Great!
All my photos and folders and faces updated perfectly.
The Full Screen Mode is PERFECT!

@uRabbit: Yes, iWeb is included. As is GarageBand, iPhoto, iMovie, and a few other good one's.
@cmcminn: There is no 1 icon to open iLife. There should be new applications, like a guitar for GarageBand, etc... if u don't see any of these, then maybe try running CleanMyMac, then restarting, and installing again. :) Hope this helps :)

Hey peach - do you use time machine? You won't lose your pics if you do...and don't worry, you won't lose your pics, you'll just lose access. I'm kinda sketched out that no one is responding though...yea, I know you all can read this, that's right, I'm not accusing you of anything but your lack of response is a bit sketchy...anyway, peach, I'm thinking about just buying ilife '11. I should have done my research anyway, because according to the forums, ilife '11 sucks compared to '09. PS: I mean you'll lose access through iPhoto. You won't lose access to your pics, you'll just have to do some research as to how to recover all your pics, you'll have to back them up, and then you'll just have a lot of work to do - so, don't panic, but DO HOPE THAT SOMEONE RESPONDS. :)

I kept scrolling through these comments and no one had figured out a way to fix it.. so i started fiddling around and I think I'm getting to a solution to it!!.. as soon as i finish figuring it out I will post the instructions to fixing it!

i figured it out! so proud of myself haha.. so anyways heres a step by step on how to get your iphoto working again and still have all of your photos, albums, ratings, faces, etc.. (IT'S VERY SIMPLE.. SHOCKED THAT NO ONE ELSE FIGURED THIS OUT BEFORE)
1) Go to the file this file that you downloaded and double click on the dmg file
2) Then in a separate window it will show you a shortcut to "install iLife" and the "readme" file
3) Right-click on the "install iLife" file and click on the option that says "show original"
4) You will then be in a folder called Packages
5) Look for the file "iPhoto.pkg" and double click on it
6) An installation guide will come up and all you have to do is re-install it
7) Then once that has completed, go to software update and update your iPhoto
8) After that update, go to your Applications folder and click on your iPhoto - and there you have it.. your normal iPhoto!

Figured it out.. here is an easy way to get your iPhoto back!
1) Go to this downloaded file and double-click on the dmg file

@DaDangle You cannot run Mac software on windows.
Your options are to make a hackintosh, dual boot a hackintosh with windows, virtualise Mac OS X over Windows or get a mac.
If you want to try it out you can virtualise. There are ways of turning your virtualised installation into a native install at a later date, too.

This is a newer HDD, in the older one that got dead I also had torrented iLife but forgot how I made it work. I have a bunch of photos and videos saved in my external drive that only opens with iPhoto of iLife '11 but can't access it now...
By the way when you have your photos stored in external, how are you supposed to enjoy the recordings you have made? It seems impossible because only when I'm watching movies do I have it connected to my laptop. It's so cumbersome.

Okay. Im not that computer savy and I figured it out.
1. download torrent and install. (there will be an issue with iPhoto.
2. Trash the broken iPhoto app and reinstall it by itself with a custom install.
3. Download the iPhoto 9.1 update from apple and install. (iphoto may tell you that you cannot use your current iphoto library and it prompts you to create a new one or quit) If this is the case then quit iphoto and DELETE YOUR OLD IPHOTO LIBRARY THRU FINDER (this is the part no one has explained). You will have to start a new library and I'm not sure if there is a way to recover the photos from your previous library. But it works and is better than not working at all. THANKS EVERYONE WHO HELPED ME!

Hello, if you want to install this and upgrade via the Mac App Store in Mavericks 10.9 to Ilife '13, it can be done, but requires VMWare fusion 6.
here is what i did
1. Boot into my 10.9 mavericks HD, then install VMWare fusion 6.0.1. I used 10.9 as my host, and then installed a new version of mavericks in the virtual machine
2. select install from disk image
3. install mavericks as a virtual drive with VMWare 6, boot into your virtual drive, log into app store with apple id
4. install VMtools, then power off VM. Go to VM settings, turn 3d accelerator on.
5. now install your ilife 11, iwork 09, and aperture 3 trials or official dvds you already have on the virtual machine
6. install this driver on your VM: VMsvga2_v1.2.5_OS_10.9.pkg, then go to display and change resolution to scaled, and use a high resolution, i used the 1920.
7. open mac app store, click on updates. now it is important to start the updates on the VM drive (virtual). You dont need to finish the download, just simply start it, then pause it for each app you want to update (iphoto, imovie, keynote, pages, numbers, aperture).
8. after starting and pausing all the apps you want to update on the VM, now you can log off your VM and open up Mac App Store to update.
9. simply sign in with your id, and do the updates. hope this helps!!!
