Rien ne va plus - Chabrol (1997)

The 50th film from legendary French New Wave writer and director Claude Chabrol is a typically Hitchcockian comic thriller about a pair of con artists. Up to now, the duo of Betty (Isabelle Huppert) and Victor (Michel Serrault) have contented themselves to small scams at hotel conventions, such as spiking the drink of a gambler, then rolling him for his winnings after he follows the flirtatious Betty back to his room and passes out. It then develops that, for the past year, without telling Victor, Betty has been plotting an enormous score involving Maurice (François Cluzet), the treasurer of an international corporation, who's planning to abscond with a briefcase containing five million Swiss francs in syndicate money. Betty's plan is for Victor to swap an identical briefcase with Maurice's and walk away with the jackpot, but Victor becomes suspicious of Betty's solo venture. Is his once-loyal partner betraying him? What about Maurice, who's no fool, and his gangster bosses, who will surely want their money returned? A dizzying array of potential double-crosses muddles the question of who's grifting who in the Betty-Victor-Maurice triangle. Please consider uprading from DivX 3 to something less archaic. The Film plays well on PC and also in an OPPO Player.
But Nero 9 cannot convert it correctly to DVD standard.

Contrary to my previous statement This DIVX file does nor, REPEAT, DOES NOT PLAY IN THE OPPO. I hangs the Player, you have to power if off, pysically, that is pull the plug....
However, using Windows Media Player, it hangs at 43´:18 but recovers at 44:46 (these are , of course timeframes within the movie.
Since I do not see movies on PC's, please be so kind to supply a proper version.
Comments of other users that used standalone salon players, are welcome.
All other persons, that have sucessfully played this avi in a PC, may express their views, of course, but it is about time that "OLD SHIT" gets washed...
As for mfcorrea, he should learn how to translate "Português" into English .
It must be spelled as "Portuguese". The way he did it means, in Portuguese "Gansos no porto"...
