Dosent work for me. Burned on a dual-DVD,
4X speed.
And the load is ok IN THE BEGINNING ;-(
But Before I come to the actual Game, the Screen turns White, and the DVD Stops.
Tried to set my TV-type to 50 HZ, 60 HZ, and HDTV on the Wii. (Sometimes solve a loading problem to change that) BUT... No luck.
Any suggestions anyone?

I have the same problem as you Dandy_man. I am using a Pal console with a D2Ckey chip. Burned at 2.4 speed using Verbatims
I know that the WiiNinja team solved this problem with the NTSC release by doing this.........
* Open IMGBURN, select to write iso to DVD, select DVD9, click in TOOLS, SETTINGS->Write->Layer Break->User specified and type 2084960. Burn the DVD.
It is too late for me to try this now as I have got to get some sleep. But I will try it in the morning.
Meanwhile if it works for anyone else please post.

Hi Again.
Thanks to bmansweden2 and Especially Ghost.x74 for replying. AND...you know what. IT Actually WORKS ;-). (Using Ghost.x74 suggestion)
BUT..Always a but... I'm not quite sure what helped. I changed to Imgburn. (use Nero normally), Used Ritek 2.4x speed, and did as you suggested Ghost.x74. Defined the layerbreak at 2084960. Only problem is that the game sometimes hangs in the videosequences. If/WHEN that happens, i just pressed + on my wiimote, and was asked, if I wanted to skip Video. (Oh yes..please skip)
I'm now trying to burn a Ritek with 2.4X but without the specified layerbreak. And I will also try to burn on a HP with 4X speed. I'll get back with the results later..*S*

OK I can confirm that the method I mentioned above does work.......WOOHOO
I am using a PAL console v 3.1E with a D2CKey chip.
My media is Verbatim Dual Layer burned at 2.4 speed using ImgBurn and putting in this Layer break........
* Open IMGBURN, select to write iso to DVD, select DVD9, click in TOOLS, SETTINGS->Write->Layer Break->User specified and type 2084960. Burn the DVD.

Final verdict....SUPER.
As Ghost.x74 wrote, the trick is to set the Layerbreak at 2084960.
I tried once again, burning at 4X Speed.
NO Probs, just remember the mentioned layerbreak.

Can anyone comfirm that this game works with wiikey? ;) I have seen that wiikey has launched an update to the chip just for ssbb. Is that patch important to get this to work?

Glad I could help.
You dont select DVD9 in Imgburn. If you insert a DVD9 disc then the program knows automaticly.
I have been playing this game all day with no hitches whatsoever. Just use good quality media and burn at a slow speed and follow the instructions above.

When I Burned the game in 4X speed, and tried it out, there was NO glitches or bad video-sequenses. I guess the first one I did, was on a Cheap/Bad media.

I have a Infectus2 chip, and run with V.3.2E on my Wii. (NOT the latest which is 3.3 i think.)
So I cant answer you on that.

I don't think you can. As far I know is the Wiiscrubber for shrinking the file for archive purpose. (Zip, Rar ect.) When you Unpack it again, the ISO file are back to the "original size" = 1 DVD.
Funny though. I have the NTSC version of SSBB to, and THAT iso file are "only" a DVD5. Maybe the guys who did that one, left something out...I dont know.

I have Updated to 3.2E via Internet. (Under Wii settings) The only update via DVD I can remember to have made was on "Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn", just after I got my Wii.
Just remember, (As you surely know) NEVER do a USA (NTSC) DVD update on a PAL-Machine. and vice versa. Pal updates on Pal-machines, USA (NTSC) updates on USA-machines
About the loadtimes, I dont think it is quite normal.

But when i burn with imgburn the first 100% is ok but at the next i get a error(verifying Sectors.)

I Used excatly the same DVD-burner "Optiarc DVD RW AD-5170A USB Device" And all worked Super.
What I did, was to UNCHECK the verify option in Imgburn. (The PC can't read Wii-DVD's)
And of cause used a Duallayer DVD(9) *S*

Then, when I start the game... "error code 001: unauthorized device detected".
I use a Wiikey, PAL Wii, have the update from Mario Kart..
What's wrong? How do I get it to work?

Downloaded it and burned to imgburn and the layer break trick, but it won't startup. I see the logo turning up but then I get a disk error. Using imagtion DVD+R DL
Could be the disk, for all other I used traxdata DVD-R and they work like a charm

scarbot, to burn this file on a mac, you should use LiqidCD 1.32.
Procedure
1. Open LiquidCD
2. Click the "Others" Icon
3. Select "Disk Image" from the dropdown menu
4. Drag and drop the SSBB iso file onto the LiquidCD window
5. Click the "Burn" icon (misleading, you won't burn quite yet)
6. Uncheck the "Leave disc appendable" box
7. Make sure "Advanced Options" box is unchecked. (This is where you can set custom layer-break info, but it is NOT NEEDED. Don't mess with it.)
8. Click the "Burn" button (which actually burns this time)

Laddade ned denna för att hjälpa ett yngel som ville ha spelet, har brännt det enligt instruktioner nämnda här, men när han stoppar in skivan så sägger Wii att "skivan kan inte läsas", kan ngn tala om exakt vad som krävs för att spelet skall funka?
Jag tror inte att konsolen är vare sig uppatchad med ngn ny firmware eller ngt chip, för när jag frågar honom så säger han "vad är det?"

Man ska använda +R när man gör manuell layerbreak. Försökte med -R först menn då sa imgburn att det ej gick.

VisitExitInSerbia, I gave up using LiquidCD, don't know if it was the crap DL DVDs I was using or if LiquidCD was the problem. Bought a Verbatim DL DVD and installed imgburn on windows and it works fine.

Works quite good on my Pal Wii with D2Pro, burned it on Verbatim+R DL - slow speed and pasted the numbers in Imageburn.
One things odd though, some videos are abit "lagy" for some seconds, nothing really bad though!

Works welll (except for some single dre and error code) but now I get dre's all the time when trying to play SSE. Started when I meat Lucario on the Iceclimber stage, now I cant even load the stage without getting dre.

I have recently come across, an information about the latest wii update for PAL wii's (3.3E). All you guys who can't make SSBB work on your wii, check what version your wii update is. If you have 3.3E, SSBB dvd5 won't work. You'll have to download the dvd9 version of SSBB and then you won't experience any problems... I've been told...
This leads to my quistion: does anyone know if this is dvd5 or dvd9? I have already wasted 2 DVD+r discs on SSBB (in Denmark they're quite expansive you know!).

So here my report: It's PARTIALLY working with a softmodded v4.1E burned on a TDK (Riatek) DVD+R DL WITH the manual layer break as described earlier in the comments. I used imgburn and booktyped to DVD-ROM at 2.4x speed.
The game seems to run ok (though it hanged 1-2 times until now probably due to reading problems) but the intro movie is always hanging (error message, cycle power of wii necessary) after about 1 min playtime. Only way to escape it is to use the b-key to jump right away to the game start. I thought this problem might be due to a bad burning (low quality discs?) so I burned the image again and the problem appeared exactly at the same place in the intro movie. So I guess it might rather have something to do with the image cration which was not totally good... Can anybody confirm that the intro movie is playing entirely without error and if yes on what wii menu version and dvd brand, software used etc..
