I have windows vista and an administrative account. I installed it to Program files > Sony > Sony Vegas Pro 8.0
Then I try to patch it, BEFORE installing it, it comes up as an error... please someone help or point out another keygen for the same program

Do exactly as guy014 instructed and you should have no shit to deal with.
Most of you are probably having problems occur from selecting the wrong file directory. The program will want to patch somewhere-- fuck that, as guy014 says:
From scratch, go to: C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 8.0, and that should solve your problems.

For Vista: Run The Keygen as Administrator. Right Click and Run as Admnistrator
Q=How to Use Keygen \ or Register
(same as you did before version)
A= Install Program then Launch Keygen Select Sony Vegas Pro 8 from drop down list (No care if it stands a or b)
Click on Patch
give em the path where you installed program and press ok (Your local file C:\Programfiles ect and find sony)
Patched Sucessfull
Run Program
Register from another Computer
Give him the Serial (copy from keygen)
Click next
Fill the Crap!! click next
Give em the Activation Code (Copy from Keygen)

As Baltimorevibe said, its important that you run this as administrator if you are using vista for instance, otherwise you'll get an error patching the files.

Now...you need only install the corp' software. If you cannot auto connect to register on start up, and 'retry' does not work, simply click the link for online registration above your serial and machine number provided, and use the Reg' form on the Sony webpage. When it asks for your serial and machine number, enter these without fear, and register. As this is a Corp' (FREE!) version it then generates your valid reg' autho' code for you to eneter, and even emails it you for safe keeping. The added bonus is that it will allow you the FREE update to 8.0c.....fully validated by Sony ! So enjoy peeps! : )

Something weird happens when you install on Windows 7 64-bit. The program installs correctly and opens. But when you close it and reopen it, it asks you to register again and put your auth. key (no serial is asked).
