Description:
Star Trek Phase II - In Thy Image
Star Trek V re-edited into an episode of the original series; this is DVD quality, and an hour long.
Since 1.5 gigabytes is pretty silly for an hour of video, there is now a VCD version here:

I downloaded this from

Here is the scrolltext from the beginning of the movie:

STAR TREK: PHASE II
"IN THY IMAGE"
based upon
STAR TREK V: The Final Frontier
In fall of 1977, Star Trek was poised for a comeback. After being cancelled in 1969, a revival of the original series, called Star Trek: Phase II, was planned to begin airing in 1978. Sets and props were constructed and a number of episodes had been written when Paramount pulled the plug. Seeing the success of the previous years surprise blockbuster "Star Wars", the new Trek show was cancelled in favour of creating a Star Trek movie.
Now, more than 25 years later, Star Trek has released 10 motion pictures, and spawned 4 spin-off series -- over 700 hours of storytelling. But had it not been for Star Wars, Star Trek would not be the Trek we know today.
With over 700 hours of stories, there's bound to be a few that don't hit home with the fans. For many, this describes Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. But for me, I found Star Trek V to be the movie that most reminded me of the Original Series with which I grew up. For that reason, it has
always been special to me. So, to showcase what I believe to be a very under-appreciated film, I offer this Re-mixed version called: Star Trek: Phase II "In Thy Image".
This re-mixed version of Star Trek V runs 63 minutes (the same runtime as the original series pilot "The Cage"). The story is broken up into the traditional Trek format of a Teaser and 5 acts. Also, the storyline has been altered to remove those things fans found hard to accept like a certain person's new half-brother.
The music score has been enhanced with music from the original series, as well as many classic sound effects such as the Bridge noise, the Planet background noise, the Red Alert siren and more being added.
So, forget what you know about Star Trek. Imagine turning the dial (manually) in September 0f 1978 to the premier of the new Trek show. There's a new ship, the 1701-A, the familiar crew, although older and wiser, and when it's over you realize this /IS/ Star Trek. An alien convinces a crazy Vulcan that he's "God", who in turn hijacks the Enterprise and heads for the centre of the galaxy?
Sounds like the Star Trek I knew...
Enjoy -- and remember, this is provided as a "collector's oddity" only. If you sell it or buy it you're BREAKING THE LAW! Star Trek is owned by Paramount Pictures and no infringement is intended!
Live Long!

Is this from the Fan studio that used to be called Star Trek the New Voyages? I think they go by Star Trek Phase II now, but I've never heard of 'In thy Image'. So someone took the movie Star Trek V and edited it down to a 50 min episode?jackmarsh (2009-04-16)
This has NOTHING to do with Star Trek New Voyages. I did this edit back in 2001, well before New Voyages began. I should know, I directed the first three episodes of New Voyages after all :)Glad to see this is being shared. I think it's pretty fun to watch - better in my opinion than the actual Movie it was derived from.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.
