Thanks. The movie is a rip-off though from "Das Experiment", a German movie from 2001. And the story itself is based on a real experiment from psycholgoy, called "Stanford prison experiment".

Hey Puppyup There is a difference between a rip-off and a remake. Considering the rights for this movie were legally purchased to make an English language version I would say it falls into the latter and I am pretty sure everyone knows what the inspiration was for the film.
