Victor Norman (Clark Gable) acabou de sair do Serviço militar, e está procurando um trabalho em publicidade. Fazendo-se de difÃcil, ele descobre que poderá convencer as pessoas a lhe darem um bom emprego e um excelente salário. A primeira coisa que ele tem que fazer é conseguir uma viúva de guerra para endossar a Beautee Soap - uma cliente da Agência de Publicidade Kimberly.
