alot of avi videos might not work on the Xbox. its picky, and thats not the consoles faults, its all down to microsoft since they provide the "optional media update". The worst case scenario i've had is that there is sound, but no picture, but never on films. They either work, or not at all, and if not??? Use your compuer. Most of them should at least play DivX or Xvid files. Failing that, download a codec pack.

I would also like to add that the quality of the content is not likley to stop the console from playing it, since it is capable of fully rendering the latest high-definition content.
