Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!!!! Works perfect!!! I thought I will never have this simulator until I found this fantastic website :-D This is the best airplane rc simulator, I love it. Thank you lots of times!!! :-Dalgarci052 (2011-12-11)
Since I installed this simulator yesterday, I advised that I can't upgrade beyond 3.0p version and cannot download new rc models like cessna 182 either. However, today I discovered by chance the solution to this problem at least in windows vista O.S.: You have to execute the simulator with administrator privileges. Try it! If you execute this as a administrator you will be able to update the simulator and download new rc models. Thanks & Greetings!!!1976reggie (2012-01-14)

Man, I owe you a beer! Realy realy thank you!!!! My Dynam usb control works just perfect. You are the guy...piwikiwi (2012-04-11)
This is THE simulator for everyone that doesn't want to buy an expensive controller OR a cable for their regular transmitter. This is SO much nicer than RealFlight 4.5 and works great on win7 with a cheapo ESky USB controller.
Thanks, man!

@ Tunt3Maton:How do you stop the update BEFORE it gets to 3.0s?
I believe it downloads all updates if you let it update.
piwikiwi (2012-04-12)
Answering my own question: update from the Phoenix website, the updates are selectable seperately :-)piratebayfan22 (2012-06-03)
My instructions for Xbox 360 Wireless Instructions for Windows 7:Unplug all other Joysticks first to make selecting the Xbox 360 Controller easier.
Click Windows Button: Devices and Printers
Right Click Xbox 360 Wireless Controller Icon
Select Game Controller Settings
Click Advanced Button
Advance Settings Popup Window will be
"Select Device you want to use with older programs"
Choose "Controller (Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows)"
Click Ok
Open Phoenix Installation folder, be sure launcher.exe and phnxdll.dll are there.
Open Launcher.exe
Select the only joystick entry
Click Run Phoenix
The Xbox 360 mapping profile that is included with this torrent sucks.
(Click System Menu Option) Select Setup New Transmitter
Go through the setup procedures
After that got to "Your Controls" still in the system menu option.
Create New
The way I have mine setup, which is very much the same as my DX5e.
Engine: Controller Channel 2
(Check Invert Box, Choose Curve, and then flatten the line to the middle line, and then it will spike. This makes it so left stick at neutral throttle is idle.)
Elevator: Channel 6
Aileron: Channel 4
Rudder: Channel 1
(This config, makes transition to a RF RC fixed wing controller very easy).

i can't see any model on the grass. will I see them if i connect my e-sky controller?grovestreet (2012-07-24)
It works great with the Dynam 6 ch USB simulator. Windows 7 plug and play. Upgraded to 4.0 with no problem at all.Stendoras (2012-08-09)
It works and updates perfectly to the latest version 4 (till now)! Remember to follow piratebayfan22's instructions for the usb controllerFlux3000 (2012-10-12)
Holy shit, I have been trying a lot of heli sims, but this is by far the best I have come across!Loads fast, easy setup, awesome graphics and all the functions you would want from a heli sim.
I've updated to version 4.0j and it works perfect with my 5 dollar ESky USB Transmitter.
Thanks for sharing, phoenix is the way to go!

When I click the run button nothing happens? It does realize the xbox controller is connected but nothing happens when I try to run the emulator. Advise?ekrekeler (2012-11-25)
I got everything installed and updated correctly. My Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 sort of works with the emulator (the y-axis on the right analog stick doesn't pick up), but I would like to use the realflight sim controller that came with realflight basic. It has 6 Chanels. When I setup a new joystick in windows (just search it in the start menu), it recognizes it, but the Phoenix Sim starter doesn't recognize it. Is there any way I can get the Launcher to recognize it?ekrekeler (2012-11-25)
Okay, I figured out how to get the Launcher to recognize the Realflight Controller and run the program, but when I go to set up the transmitter, it isn't picking up the X-axis of the left analog stick aka the rudder. It shows that it picks up that channel when I select System > Your Controls, but I can't get it to set that channel as the rudder when I'm making a profile. Help please?dee0007 (2012-12-16)
I have hooked up my usb controller, everything works fine except the controls are very abrupt , ie rudder when activated turns very quickly, basically its not smooth, is it possible to trim it down? or is there a cheap usb transmitter that someone can recommend and where do i buy it??Thanks

Just so everyone knows, when you update this to V5.0a, SIMEMU does not work... SO no more Xbox 360 controller... Bummer! Unless someone can update the launcher....Furiou5 (2014-03-01)
I got it working for Phoenix v5. I noticed that the main .exe was no longer PhoenixRC.exe, that is now a small launcher, the actual program is Simulator.exe. Went into phnxdll.dll(the DLL for SimEMU) and searched PhoenixRC.exe, replaced with Simulator.exe and violla works great.emilcrazy (2014-03-15)
to get the xbox360 emulator to work in the v5 just remove the PhoenixRC.exe or move it to Another folderthen rename the simulator.exe to PhoenixRC.exe
DONE! enjoy
37flyfly (2014-03-28)
Hey Furiou5, how do you edit the phoenixdll.dll? I tried just opening it in notepad and replacing phoenixRC.exe with Simulator.exe and then saving it, but when I try to launch Phoenix via the EMU, I get an error message. Do you need to edit the file with a dll decompiler? Can you upload your edited dll?g60force (2014-04-09)
@emilcrazy: thnx alot man that worked!!TheOriginalCoda (2014-04-17)
@37flyfly You can't open binary files in notepad. You need a hex editor at least.shanti78 (2014-04-29)
@Furious5 first and foremost you rock for noticing the difference in .exe file names I totally missed that. For others instead of editing the DLL file you can simply rename the "Simulator.exe" file to "PhoenixRC.exe" and it'll work perfectly for Version 5. Note: there is a "PhoenixRC.exe" which is basically a shortcut to "Simulator.exe" file that you should rename first to something else.whypaymore (2014-07-30)
Awedome simulator, I love it!It works perfectly on my Windows XP running as a VM on Oracle Virtualbox on macMini, but have no luck with Windows 7.
On Windows XP, I could even upgrade it unto the latest version 5.0.r. Just need to rename the Simulator.exe file as PhoenixRC.exe. Because, the crack program (launcher.exe) looks for the PhoenixRC.exe file to launch your Joystick.
whypaymore (2014-07-30)
One more thing, for those who are running windows on a Oracle virtual box VM, the Phoenix will not run until you "reduce" the Video memory -Settings-> Display->Video memory to 8MB (Win XP)
and 128MB for Windows 7.
whypaymore (2014-07-30)
One more thing -For those who are using Windows on Oracle Virtualbox VM, you have to "reduce" the video memory in order for the Phoenix to launch. Go to -
Settings-> Display -> Video Memory - 8MB (WinXP)
and 128 MB (Windows 7)
jjajalife (2014-08-02)
excellent !!.. Thank you very much. I can update from version 3 to version 5.0.p with no problem at all. It worked great with a cheap chinese transmitter and USB adapter. Also with a JR transmitter and the same USB adapter.Planedriver (2014-08-10)
Link to emulator. Works with ver.4https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=A97C533EED2977EC&id=A97C533EED2977EC%21121
girirocks (2014-09-05)
This really worked for me with FS CT6B TX, which comes with USB cable( meant only for TX config and not for Sim)However after referring rcpower and mycoolheli's work I could possible use my TX to run this sim.
I need not buy any USB based Simulator.
However u need ppjoy, t6sim and lot of patience to make it work. Even after configuring with virtual joystick u need to set up new transmitter since they are missing from the phoenix's list.
Also my throttle stick was inverted hence I had to calibrate using the phoenix.
Thank to uploader.
